Re: TOHKBD rev2

I'm sorry if this is an extremely stupid question, but I tried to search my e-mail and the kickstarter site and found no answer: how do I know what my number is?

Thanks!

Re: TOHKBD rev2

How do I find my order number? I couldn't find it in the kickstarter emails. And I thought I knew, but that number is already in the list and I didn't receive any packages lately.

But still, great idea to post this list! Keep us hungry wolves happy with a glimpse to your production speed. Thanks Dirk.

Found It! Totally different number than I remembered. I'm off by 28. And my number is not in the list yet.

And of course it's not with a qwerty black on black TOHKBD. :D

Ah! I see my number in both columns! Good to know it is somewhere between purgatory and my house!

Just curious. How many were shipped to US?

And for those who would like to add tohkbd (or external keyboard) support to their apps, i suggest start reading here: http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/qml-qtquick-keys.html

Re: TOHKBD rev2

If you have installed from mer-obs, and Store offers you an update, it is possible that Settings app will stuck with install-progress spinner, and you can not access it.

This can be fixed or/and avoided by uninstalling* mer-obs version, and then re-attaching TOH part and allowing it to install from store.

*) either pkcon remove harbour-ambience-tohkbd2
or go to Store -> my apps -> tohkbd2 -> Uninstall

Re: TOHKBD rev2

Would it be possible to have the VKB hidden while using TOHKBD but still use word prediction?

I seem to touch several wrong keys when using the VKB and then spend a lot of time correcting typos. This takes incredible lots of effort when no cursor keys in the VKB and tumbs as big as mine.

With TOHKBD I almost never press the wrong key but I think I could still type faster if the word prediction was available.

Typed on my TOHKBD that now has question mark and sticky caps lock light but yet no caps lock. Keeping ctrl pressed works now as modifier for more than one key. Great!

BTW I think it must be an error that the sticky control light has now moved between the del and tab key.
EDIT: typos corrected :-)

Well, only certain layouts were sent first, if you were #1 with a layout that was unavailable, then yours is in the queue.

I'm guessing the standard QWERTYs haven't come in yet then.

Mine is #104 with standard QWERTY (there wasn't spanish :( ) and it is in the list.

It seems like he's building the keyboards in a logical order.

To begin with, I think he said he had one layout arrive, so they were the first to ship.

Now it seems that more have arrived, he'll probably build in a colour by colour basis. The case is the biggest part and everything attaches to it so it makes sense to go through each colour, drop in the internals, pop on the back cover, then do similar for the phone interface.

Hmmm, I am Kickstarter number 583, Scandic, and according to the list my keyboard is already sent. However, I still haven't heard even a peep from any postal service. I noticed someone below me on the list that had received their keyboard 2015-06-11, so I am beginning to worry something has gone wrong in a horrible way...

You mean like a typo in the spreadsheet and your keyboard isn't really sent? :-)

I personally vote for all orders to be processed first and then deal with issues.

Working on following:
- Move ctrl-alt sticky led back together with Sym-sticky led.
- "selfie" led can be toggled with Sym-Del key-combo if someone wants to lit it :)
- Installation now restarts maliit, so newcomers should not need to reboot to get VKB hidden.

And happy midsummer

I guess it's to have some light when you take a selfie, since there is no flash light on the front side of the phone :p

Just for super-clarification: Order numbers that are in the 'Sent' Column of the Orders Sheet have actually been dispatched?
Or are they just packaged and waiting to go?

Once again, thanks a lot Dirk for handling all this - they must think you're Santa at the post office!

Some variance to this thread...

0.2.3 beta is out, get it here:
http://repo.merproject.org/obs//home....1.armv7hl.rpm

Note that this link will go 404 when newer version is released.

Changes after 0.2.0:

- [daemon] fake caps-lock
- [userdaemon] add taskswitcher support for landscape-inverted
- [daemon] fix sticky modifiers first-press after daemon start and when settings changed
- [deamon] interrup flooding detector
- [install] restart maliit on install
- [daemon] remap leds, introduce selfie-led, add volume-up-down
- [daemon] filter bogus input reports, do not try to update leds if Vdd is off

I actually got this issue of a stuck install-progress spinner while upgrading from 0.1.3 (I think) to 0.2.0, from official Jolla Store.
Waited for a good 10 minutes, then rebooted the device. The upgrade anyway was successful, apparently only the icon got stuck.

I installed this, and now in my TOHKBD Settings app everything is grayed out (except "Report a bug"). I removed with "pkcon remove harbour-ambience-tohkbd2" and reinstalled, still the same thing. The keyboard works. My previous installation was from mer-obs (because nfc not working). Edit: Never mind, got it working now, after one more reinstall from mer-obs, remove, and reinstall from your link.

Another thing: Is there any list of special key functions, like the selfie led, screenshot etc.? I don't even know all the things my keyboard can do :)

What am I missing, because this is my situation:

I added the repo with the whole ssu ar tohs http... thing, installed the package and it worked.

I did not, however, ever see anything in the store under either My Apps or by searching for "tohkbd2" or any variant of eg "kbd".

Uninstalling the package, rebooting, and clipping on the tohkbd2 did not start the store or suggest any installation or anything.

I'll just pkcon install it now, but it would be nice to just use the store.

This feels like a problem, is it?

Thanks!

PS. Sailfish up to date, version 1.1.6.27.

The software for tohkbd is not available as a regular app in the store, it is ambience package which installs when you attach TOH to the phone.

This looks like you have issue with NFC. Steps:
* Check with original Jolla TOH that you hear sound when you attach
* Check from Jolla Settings -> System -> Device info that you see The OtherHalf ID there
* Check that your tohd.service is not masked/disabled with devel-su then systemctl status tohd should return green active (running)
* If not, systemctl unmask tohd then systemctl enable tohd then systemctl start tohd and re-attach TOH
