so that answers my question. some of the bugs in the n900 are crippling the device but are fixed in meego as bugzilla conclusions. how does that help us??? lol its hilarious!

by the way its hard to believe. i will never at this current time part with my n900 as i love it so soo much. this includes a lot of others who complain in this thread. we are just upset about a few things which only came to light AFTER the n900's purchase. people do get upset at their kids but they grow to do amazing things eventually ;)

@felbutss

Not sure what line of work you're in, but I'd be shocked if it had anything to do with software development. Fixing and enhancing software in the real world is a formal process. Threads like this are not part of that process. Trust me, your rants are at best meaningless for something actually getting changed or fixed by Nokia. If bugs don't make it to bugzilla, they won't be addressed. And spamming bugzilla is counterproductive. Enhancements are a slightly grey area, but before brainstorms, they too usually started in bugzilla. The rest can be picked up by the community, but that mostly happens because of an individual's self interest, not as the result of a forum members complaint.

I'm not trying to discourage you from voicing your opinions, but you mentioned earlier how you get things done where you're from, I'm just sayin' that that is much less effective in this kind of environment.

Considering some of the bugs slated to be wrapped up in PR1.2 were previously marked as "Fixed in Harmattan," I wouldn't put much stock in the stated milestone for some bugs.

Lately i`ve been having some graphical issues with my n900.Guess what i found out?
Bugzilla #5556
Nokia has decided that there no ressources will be put into fixing this for
Maemo5, hence closing as WONTFIX.

How is this a good thing?I`ve payed 600 euros for a device with a broken screen.

sorry, what?
how is a minor bug in the screen switching eyecandy a broken screen?

don't get me wrong, WONTFIX is always bad, but this is getting really really stu^H^H^Hsilly.

i think you got the wrong idea. i know not much can come out of this website. i have logged heaps of bugs trying to help.

i think we should just drop it. no hard feelings.

But if you don't, no worries, I'll be here on Maemo.org...watching, reading, ready to pounce on a dunce like you.

No Thank, I like it here. Here is my second home. Please stay on the topic. This is about MeeGo and N900. Personal comments are off topic comments.

For one, that's not your screen. It's called tearing, and is entirely related to the graphics chip redrawing faster than the screen can refresh.

Your device still works, and it's probably being ignored because it has zero impact on the functionality of the device.

Second, I recall somewhere (unofficially) that it was fixed. Wouldn't be the first time that something was going to be "Fixed in Harmattan" or WONTFIX for Maemo5 that actually did get fixed.

That said, their response to the issue is somewhat off-putting. I suppose a more "diplomatic" phrasing would have been better.
