considering that opera mobile uses opera's server to cache images and prepare websites, it's actually a quite pathetic result for the HD2 :)

"The style of the HTC HD2 will be familiar to anyone who has ever watched Star Trek (and what self respecting geek hasn’t?) as it looks exactly like those multi-functional data pads used by the crew. Those devices, which with a few taps of the screen can seemingly perform any variety of tasks and data transfers. So, the HD2 not only looks like a Star Trek data pad, it performs like one too! The features of the HD2 are hard to beat and we are going to take a walk through this magical device in more detail."

As much as I love star trek, I don't want one of those in my pocket.

Yea the slashgear review of the HD2 has some good comparison pics. I knew it was a large phone but it was significantly larger than the n900. Photos can be misleading though. In my mind, the n900 was a lot larger but its really identical in face size with my e63.

I thought it was only OperaMini which used an intermediary proxy.

Look at my name! Would I lie?

Anyway, it certainly sounds like it will be sometime 9th-17th when it is released, maybe shipping from manuf on the 9th, pre-orders as soon as they arrive at e-tailers, and 16th/17th training/store front release?

Who knows though, if that is the schedule, Nokia probably has a meeting with the development team to decide go/nogo at end of buisness today, I do not think anything is certain yet.

btw does anybody know how you delete emails, messages etc in the nokia email/messaging client?

Is it similar to the Palm Pre/Iphone where you just swipe to the right and delete, or do you have to pull up a menu, click delete, and then confirm?

I already have a 2nd battery on the way to me, and an external charger... hopefully i will have a charged battery by the time I get my n900 (hopefully not too much ahead of time ^_^ )

i didnt say the dev team wouldnt be done, but they might have a last second meeting based on testing for final shipping code to confirm if it is ready to ship as-is.

I just watched the Slashgear Video about the HD2... it's not very fluent workflow on this machine.

Also, imagine scrolling through Mail/Pictures etc. when you have to find an old mail/picture where you'll have to get past ~30 items in order to find it... will take ages, thanks to that stupid animation in portrait mode

Your information is incorrect. Peter told me that N900 will fly from the skies on the 16th of November during a Rihanna London concert.
