Yeah thats pretty much whatI had in mind. I'll let my main computer join that room sometime later today.. But yeah a #nitdroid-help with a webchat on a wiki page could be great for those that need help(and it will hopefully reduce clutter in the devel-thread).

Hello, been busy with coursework for a while so not been on.
On p136 you mention dual-boot.. Is this working now without rd mode?

no r&d is still required but its possible to disable the keyboard lights by editin a file in maemo if you wish. Ive been usin randd mode like this for over a week and nothin bads happened

I have no clue how to get the ADB to work. I have installed the rootfs fine.
Can not understand what needs to be done.

I had to "chmod +x adb" to get the permission issues to go.
But still can't get it to fully work...

Please help.

None.
I'll try it again and show a screen shot. NOTHING comes up on the N900.
Android just boots like normal in the setup android screen.
Should something show up?

if you use the right rootfs you should get a box asking what you want to use to perform an action on boot- adb wont show anything on device its a cli based app

Hmmm...
I think something is wrong.
I have followed the instructions. Didn't see any writing or errors.
Just decided to click skip, skip, next, next blah blah....
I have access to Marketplace (using my google account), but nothing can be downloaded. I just receive an error "File xxxxxx failed to download" is that what the adb is fixing?
It fails on all files (MarketPlace only. Appstore works)

no thwe adb was to get past google apps lol. market fault is what i know of i cant work out reason for it yet but its being looked at really need someone with a native android phone to step in and give me a hand with getting some details

OH...
Then. I received no errors.

All I did was copy and paste:
ifconfig usb0 192.168.2.1 up

ADBHOST=192.168.2.15 ./adb shell (after I used a chmod +x on abd)

Then a little message and a new shell opened.

# (lookd like that)

used copy/paste for:

cd /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases
sqlite3 settings.db
INSERT INTO system (name, value) VALUES ('device_provisioned', 1);
.exit

yep thats exactly what should of happened :) the google apps issue is related to a google client id or similar, so if anyone knows someone with a android device with native gapps get them to contact me i would love to get hold of info off one

Make sure you remove all folders and files and then copy over.. Not just rewriting the files that already exist.

ohh nice it's working now lol i got "system uids inconsisten" and i clicked i'm feeling lucky lol what's that ??

edit : ok'ay, 2nd boot : it has gone away lol but seems like it's frozen... let's re boot lol

edit 2 : 3rd reboot, well def' frozen... what should i do ??

edit 3 : having many error reports like "the process abdroid.process.acore has stopped" or about the keyboard or even sayin' that i must wipe my partition lol

There's an AndApp Store app that's supposed to fix Market. It says it needs root access, and it's like the only AppStore app I wasn't able to get to install.

The app's description says it's for people who can't get Market to work cause they're in the wrong country or with the wrong carrier or whatever. So it doesn't sound like it would necessarily apply to us.

It sounded like an app in the AndApp store. AndApp has nothing to do with the official Android Market.

I have the apk file for that application, haven't used it though.
