We don't know for sure what will happen then, whatsapp has never been supported for N900 so basically nothing will change.
There is always the possibility to switch to Telegram. Their loss if that happens. I am not going to use another phone.

Except that the n900 yappari pretends to be a symbian device and so a cessation of the service for symbian must have an impact. Unless yappari assumes a new disguise and a feature lack is a likely complication there. Surely?

They said they will stop supporting these devices and recommend "upgrading" to Android, iPhone or Windows phone to continue using Whatsapp. IMO it is still unclear what they mean by that.

I think that they will stop releasing updates for the OS's on the list.

Yes, I agree updates are a no no. But further than that, it is guesswork. Likely IMO, is that fairly soon some or other feature will emerge to become a standard part of the Whatsapp experience, leaving the older phones high and dry.

works here now as well. guess there was a network problem. but that person whose messages i posted above had to write about 65 messages (at least i received it 65 times) before i could start receiving her messages. She had got a Whatsapp update earlier today. Android user.

Seem like WA's changes are nuking Yappari. Get "connection closed by server" and then Yappari exits/ switches off completely. Start Yappari again and same happens ... done this 5 times now ... Is this the end of the road?

Yappari crashed here too. Looks like this time I'm not banned. At least log does not say this time anything about banning.

Even the log looks like Yappari will handle the close of the connection still Yappari process will crash.

I have already switched to Telegram and have my main contacts on it. I wouldnt care much about whatsapp now. tbh i hardly use it now. so mine still lives on.. Just miss FB or twitter but its fine..

New version is on the way to the repos already.

My guess is that we'll be able to use Yappari until the end of 2016, date on which Whatsapp will stop supporting S40 phones.

I'll update first page with new links as soon as the .deb arrives to the repos. Meanwhile, you can download Yappari 2.0.27 here.

Yeah, that's gonna keep happening a lot until I implement encryption. There are a couple workarounds, but they don't always work.

I downloaded this new version and was working perfect but as i am writing this am getting connection closed by server. been talking to people and it just crashed on its own. any help please.

Its true the number has been blocked. This is the third time, I think its in there database they do remove them after some time but once you start using it again oooops. The other number which has never been blocked works fine, just waiting for its turn. Time to think about androind. I loved this phone since when it just got out but it was very expensive but I waited till towards end of 2011. These days we talk/discuss business using whatsapp so to have a phone without watsapp you lose. But anyway everything has its end. This will be a sad ending.

your entry into Maemo/N900 sounds exactly the same as mine. Also had to save many months to buy it :) Also bought it in 2011.

People, I think that the new version .27 has a kind of bug because I can receive responses from some friends but not the others. They can read my messajes but I can't receive their responses. Any idea of the problem?
