With regular usage I still get at least 20 hours of battery life out of it. The longest was four days with mild usage.

Regular usage, yes, but with data on it takes a toll. emails, twitter, facebook, gtalk, etc, battery life is not stellar

I'm pretty sure most smartphones won't have stellar battery life with 3 IM account connected.

The sooner it dies the sooner CSSU can begin !

But before they kill it off they should 'open' Maemo and Harmattan so CSSU can explode

yes but am pretty certain they tested it pretty intensively didn't they? while were pretty sure not all chips can reach 1.3

also battery life for me generally lasts my day, about 8 hours, all i've got is 30min check on feed and facebook, and a lot of 3G and wifi with the odd call and lots of text. also full brightness

Did they? they didn't test the usb port intensively did they?

CSSU can already begin, have you ever heard of open kernel mode? so no need to kill N9 support for that reason.

Remember Nokia 311 entered FCC around mid april? ;)

Lets say:

* PR1.3 for N9 gets released around end of May

and also:

* Nokia311 announced end of May with Meltemi/Qt that would be epic win :D

(yes I should stop dream :(

I remember reading that the LED will be disabled, only used to indicate power up/down.

You're definitely dreaming :)
There are changes in next billion project (for the good) that might affect the schedule. I don't know why it takes forever to launch Meltemi, they supposedly have fewer components to work with. I would be surprised to hear anything official from NOK before end of June...

How I wish NOK could embrace developers like RIM is doing with BB10 long before the devices are out.

I am not arguing, I just said it has been done before, and that many things leave the testbed not-so-well tested. So it is not impossible that it will happen. Not that I want it. I think the N9 is fast enough.when it's not misbehaving. Even the N900 is ok with 600mhz. It's the lack.of ram that kills it.
