Hi all, I'm Daniel from Hungary. I got an N900 a mont ago, and has been thinkering with it ever since. I've been a die-hard Symbian fan, but my previous 5800xm and seeing the upcoming N8 made me ditch the platform I've been using since my 3650 (6600, 6630, e51, 5800). The N900 is everything I needed, I was thinking about a netbook, not anymore. There are still things to be done on the N900 as well, but at least they can be done, and you dont have to wait months for Nokia to announce a new ROM to fix a few bugs and bring a dozen new.

Hello everyone. I am Ed from the USA. I love the community here. The n900 frustrates my girlfriend because she wants all my attention, but she's adjusting to it. The phone has been a challenge at times, but has been a source of a lot of good times, too. Glad to share time with all of you.Happy mobile computing.

Hi everyone. I am The Wizard of Huz. I've been reading this forum for over a year now since I got my N900 last december. I was a long time Palm Treo 650 user. I still think the Palm OS (the old one) had the best PIM functionality. Maybe Nokia should look at it to improve the PIM of the N900. Now waiting for the release of N9.

Hi everyone, I am midori.
I got my N900 yesterday and im thrilled. Such an astonishing device. Especially the terminal, screen, irssi and vim are amazing, even though i wish there would be emacs.
Anyway, great device and great forum. Keep up the good working.

Hello and Mabuhay :)

I'm topet2k12001 from the Philippines, just purchased the N900 today. I got hooked up with Linux (Ubuntu) in April of this year where initially I had a Nokia 5800, when a few weeks later the N900 became available here. Now that I have gained some knowledge about Linux, I decided to make that switch to the N900. I heard it does wonders. And as usual, being a Linux user now one of the first things for me is to find a support community such as this.

More power to you all!

Hi All,

I've been around for a few months now but I didn't notice this thread. I'm a proud N900 owner in southern Ontario (Canada).

Nokia does not officially sell this phone over here but I still found a way to get myself one.

cheers maemo.org community

Re: New members say hello !

Hi guys,
I first bought a secondhand N810 tablet and thought I can get away with it without any phone at all.
Turned out that a student couldn't survive without any form of telephone at all! Then I sold it on ebay and bought a Nokia 5630 from smggsm.comm. It had all features but would go down on battery when using it to make skype video calls on fring. The screen was so small and I personally felt that those type of fully loaded phones(except not having GPS) shouldn't be released with such small screens, or symbian OS, or without touch screens or optical navigation button.
So I bought Nokia N900 last October and spoiled myself with it.
I think it needs a lot of respect and continued support so that it doesn't make it look so dumb!
I sincerely wish I could write comp progs and create apps and design UIs!!!
Because the Notion Ink ADAM has a UI with which the user can select between tabs with just the radius of his/her thumb.
IT WAS ONE OF THE TECHNOLOGY THAT I WISH I COULD MAKE FOR MY PHONE!(if I knew programming!)
hmmm...
Life goes on. Not much complaints but things could become better and I wish I will lake it good!...

Greetings fellow people :)

Just registered, since I've finally gotten hands on an N900 this week and so far I'm (mostly) loving it.

Of course, I've got some questions/ideas and I'm going to post about the ones I haven't found a sufficient solution in the 'new user'-thread.

cheers,
avx
