Not really... Without us the customer, Nokia is nothing, nada, poof, gone, sayonara..

I know for sure on one thing. If Nokia knowingly inflated pre-order sales totals in order to inflate their stock, that's a violation ( here in the US ) of about three separate Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC ) laws.

I'm not saying they'll get in trouble, but if they keep creating a big enough hype about this, the people responsible for monitoring new product releases ( FCC ) are bound to find out then in turn notify the SEC of this hoopla.

On another note, if saving an additional $50 through the rebate means I have to wait another three weeks, then so be it. $50 is a bottle of 12yr Old Reserve Jameson, or six Tatujae J21 cigars, or the portable Nokia charging station...

This is a standard mail from Amazon, because they don't have a shipping date added in their system.
So a sql inquiry sends out these message, when you order something which has no ship date or a date beyond 25th december.

You would be very sick, if your ordered present won't ship until the 25th so they send these mails.

Anyway, I would like to apologize for being offensive if you didn't mean that Korea is a 3rd world country.

By "3rd country" i meant countrys outside of EU! If we do business with some country outside EU then we talk about it as "3rd country". So appologizes accpted ;) ! I have been travelling all around the world and there is no way you can say that South Korea is a "3rd World Country". It is a very democratic and developed country. But still there`s a lot of hassle if you want import something from there.

Have a nice weekend with it uk lads! ;)

I suspect that may mean MPD will be shipping Thursday for Friday delivery. I suspect (and am hoping) that they only said "end of November" to play it safe, as they weren't sure when they would arrive.

Certainly, if they DO sell it in the store and MPD do not ship the same day, I will be pissed as that is EXACTLY what they said the exclusive was about, that we would get it BEFORE everyone else. In fact the wording was "exclusive via our Nokia stores" which kinda implies the stores and MPD orders should be sent at the same time which again means Friday delivery.

Well the nokia.fi online store said they would start delivering on friday. I think the Helsinki flagship store will have their devices at the same time.

Of course it depends on what kind of delivery you chose. It is obviously quicker to buy it from the store in the morning :D

The only way you'd interpret the information correctly was if you're very used to how Nokia does releases (i.e. poorly) or were following it here. The average person would assume orders were shipping to customers and that it would be available very soon in retail shops to walk in and buy

so, 10.11.2009 announcement that devices will be in sale in november. wouldn't that make about 2 weeks for the logistics?

i don't see what info do you want? personal butler to keep your hand and tell personally that info?

e: finnish nokia online store said that deliveries start this friday, so last preorderers should have their devices 27.11.2009.

Considering how long it would take me to GET to London, I think its quicker (and certainly a lot cheaper) to wait for Special Delivery Next Day.

Nokia Online store was saying that delivering starts 20.11.2009 (friday) and you can buy one from Flagship store on 27.11.2009.

Sorry guy but you got caught talking crap. You're pretending all sorts of information was released when it wasn't. Nokia simply said shipping had begun which left everyone to interpret what that meant.

In flagship stores by the 19th? Unless they shipped my N900 on Monday, then they're basically claiming it's going to be available in stores before I even get my pre-order?

That's, frankly, disgusting.

Grumble.

A very strong and, in my opinion, justified sense of entitlement.

Re: OPK: N900 deliveries have now started!!

pre-orders should Definately be allocated first. They should at LEAST ship EVERY LAST pre-order prior to putting a single unit on a retail shelf. I do not care if they hand the last pre-order box out, then immediately start stocking with what is left, but they should be allocated to pre-orders first.

Well I was too stingy to pay for express delivery when they forced me to re-order, so even if mine ships tomorrow, or the morning of the 19th I'm probably not going to get it until next week.

I'm quite liking the Motorola DEXT, though.

retail stores gets the devices last. and the devices will be at stores in this month. preorders are higher in priority, so those will be at customers a bit before than in stores if nokia holds their promise (nokia online store finland written statement)

so: the date who you all are asking is 30.11.2009*

(*unless nokia postpones the date)
