Wonder if flash 10.1 will be working on Froyo N900, sounds exciting as an alternative platform,

jaguilar 2010-06-24 01:02

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

There was impossible to test the new version! I followed all the steps, but the N900 shows the message to perform a task, but its impossible to tap any option! And several error windows comes up....wich I can tap!

Is this happening only with me?

DJ_Steve:
The graphics bug for NITdroid startup is very bad on my phone.
ctrl/sym does not bring up the desktop.
It has been this was since 0.0.3-a and it is currently the same using 0.0.3-a-Gapps.
I need to restart android upto 5 (more some times) times to get the desktop to activate.
I can press ctrl/sym 1000 times with no luck.

Does anyone else have this issue as bad as mine?

@Jag:
ADB.
Head back a few pages. Download adb.bz2 from right above the new rootfs and follow instructions.
If you get permission denied for adb (when when in root) use:
chmod +x

1. Send me boot.log from Android's root.
2. Try not just quickly hit sym/ctrl, press and de-press after couple of seconds. Probably you already tried this way, but...
I never saw that sym/ctrl trick dont work for me.
And bug existed before 3a, since first kernel I built.

P.S In froyo this bug dissapered. And "wifi after first reboot" seems too.

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Thanks e-yes, I will get you the bootlog this afternoon.
Does 2.2 run as fast a the current we have?
Can you use DJ_Steve's trick with adb to get marketplace setup?
(Once you upload it, I'll create a new partition and test away for you :))

Edit: I have done the long press, short press and everthing in between for ctrl/sym and I can not access the Android desktop (tried 3 times today).

@dj_steve maybe you should post you request about nitdroid bootscreen here:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...+mods&page=140
or/and here:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...thread&page=34
You might get more lucky those places ;)

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

e-yes:
I have my boot.log. I can't copy and paste all the text here.
It's 15.6MB.
Is there a certain section that you want?

Seems odd. It works for the first few hours after I install a fresh rootfs (maybe the first day), then just gets very unresponsive.
The wifi is connected (I can see the little icon).

I just saw in the boot.log that the marketplace is not being granted permission that DS_Steve mentioned..

Code:

[ 06-21 18:50:38.567  523:0x215 W/PackageManager ]
Not granting permission com.android.vending.permission.UPDATE_MARKET_FAILURE to package com.android.vending.updater (protectionLevel=2 flags=0x7e45)

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

if ithas usb debugging (should have it) you should be able to get into adb and run the commands. and your better off deleting the boot.log and then trying boot

kingoddball 2010-06-24 09:08

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Hi Steve,
Deleting the boot.log did not help.
It's still at the graphical glitch screen and Ctrl/Sym does not revive the desktop.
The device isn't frozen. The clock ticks over like normal, wifi is connected....

dj_steve 2010-06-24 09:09

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

yes but deleting boot.log will make the file a heck of a lot smaller :)

Re: [Android] NITDroid V2 Development Topic

Hi DJ_Steve & e-yes,

My Boot.log is now 205kb.

It's uploaded to a Megaupload link. Sorry, don't know any other sites.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=67I3PD65

e-yes: How did Froyo run on your N900?
Looking around, froyo looks like it's going to be a beast!
Did you notice any programs running after?

Flashed the kernel and unpacked the rootfs to the 4th partition of my MMC, Android boots up to the UI and shows powering off (or turning off, not sure), then it shuts down.
During bootup it shows I2C errors about bluetooth.
Any ideas?
