Installed, and seems to be working nicely. What has changed and what features I should be watching out for?

Only change I noticed was the ui hints, which I think are quite good for new users.

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Hey, I have a small issue. Mitäkuuluu uses about 50% from the CPU on my Jolla. This causes the battery drain and my phone becomes warm. I noticed it recently, I am using the version 0.8.0-2. Is that known issue or should I provide some additional information?

Thanks.

Never noticed about this issue. Anyone?

TemeV 2014-07-17 11:21

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

For me mitäkuuluu has occasionally been stuck in somekind of busy loop and eating battery. Restarting the app is only cure. With that beta build this has not yet happened, but it is too short time to tell if problem is really gone.

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

I had the CPU 100% before the Tahkalampi update.
Haven't seen it since I updated.

But before happened like every week at least.

Boooooooring

I have that same issue sometimes. Rebooting fixes that of course, but it is a little bit annoying if you don't recognize it before the battery is empty.

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

i've got lighthouse running in the background all the time and regularily check the cpu usage... 3-4 times mitakuuluu was shown to be using 50% and a restart did help... if it happens, you'll notice the phone to get quite warm so for me it is easily detectable...

can't trace the reason though... has happened on 3g/4g, wifi, charger connected/disconnected, even over night... not even sure if it's down to mitakuuluu or sailfish...

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

I have this bug more or less every time if I let mitäkuulu run for longer periods of time. one CPU-core stays at 100% and battery drops like crazy.

I first thought the problem was due to unstable network connection, but it happens on a perfectly stable wifi connection too. I 'm still on 0.8.0-2, didn't try the beta so far.

I also did send a log for this problem some weeks ago (shortly after 0.8.0 was released)

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

The 100% bug seems to show itself when you have Mitakuuluu running in background, and than switching networks 2g/3g/Wlan etc.

LOL. Only about 30 people or more who bored you sending logs and bugs... Bug is known mates, don't report it more.

You are a bcfh? Bastard Coder From Hell? :D:D (no offense intended)

With 0.8.1-1 my Jolla is cool. Maybe you solved the problem... :) As said, more time is needed to be sure. Installing 8.0.1-2 beta.

100% CPU + hot bug happened to me with last Sailfish version (1.0.8.19 Tahkalampi) and 0.8.0, but not yet with beta 0.8.1-1.

1. Open Mitäkuuluu
2. Quit Mitakuuluu
3. The 5 sec. countdown is shown
4. Taping on the screen does not scip the countdown and quit Mitakuuluu immiediately like it was in v8.0

Hit that "countdown time bar". My works..

Im currently using 0.8.1-2 and tried hardly to make mitäkuuluu to eat my cpu by moving around edge of wlan coverage area. But it looks like we do not have this feature anymore. Sad.. How can I now keep my hands warm?? :D :D

no difference what version you had before. its just bytes.

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Till now the new version is running great.

- cpu 100% bug seems to be fixed
- stays connected even at long idle phases

Tried everything with wlan and mobile data enabled, in good and bad and mixed receiption areas. Will continue to watch out for bugs.

Confirming here. I used wlan a little, but my mobile have moved from 3G and 2G several times. These last 2 nights I completely closed Mitakuuluu and reopened it at morning (just in case it get crazy and eat cpu in plane mode so I don't wake up for working...). But it have been opened all the day without problems.

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Seems to be fixed for me too in 0.8.1 beta 2. Mitakuuluu running since morning, and the 100% CPU-Bug didn't occur so far ( fingers crossed ;) ).
Even with unstable network (My way to work goes along the border, so network switches between home net and roaming frequently) seems to work fine.

malkavian 2014-07-18 14:12

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

:( 100% CPU-Bug happened to me with 0.8.1-2.

Happened while SailfishOS says it is connected but it's not and going to plane mode and normal mode again, make impossible to connect to mobile network (even for making calls, but can connect to Wlan).

I rebooted and all is working again. ¿Sailfish bug?

No. I have to restart the Mitakuuluu. Lates mitakuuluu didn't do that before newest OS update. Maybe reinstall fix it?

coderus 2014-07-18 17:14

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

sure, reinstall it couple of times. fresh bytes will be written to your device and make it work better :)

Yes. I get the same thing. My CPU is less than 10% usually and the battery lasts way more than a day if Mitakuuluu is not running. This this was introduced with the version 0.8. I used to just keep it running all the time, because it behaved very well.

I upgraded to 0.8.0-2 hoping that this will get resolved but it is still a problem. I tried complete uninstall and reinstall.

I love Mitakuuluu but I can't keep it running anymore because of this issue. I have to do a Full quit to recover my CPU

This was reported here too http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...postcount=1379

Let me know if you need any information/logs.

Coderus, you are always so funny :). i think update make some changes to it but maybe not then. Hope there will be fix soon.

coderus 2014-07-19 04:53

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

if bug still persists new version never will be released.

Jordi 2014-07-19 05:16

Re: [v0.8.0] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Ok, so let's sit down and wait till it resolve on its own :)

BTW, I'm still using the antique but dashing bytes of version 0.7.7-2 and the bug is sometimes present in the morning. Good wifi reception all the night long and I see the CPU usage of Mitak server slowly increasing : 59.2 ... 59.3 ....

By closing and reopening the connections, everething is back to normal.
