Re: Overclock the N900?

I regularly use SiB+mplayer combo to play my xvid videos.

Before, while playing a video, if I try to multi-task, sometimes, the video will lag while the sound plays fine while in the task switcher screen with little thumbnails. Also, when switching back to the video, the a/v sync was off and sometimes tooka bit of time to catch up.

Now at 900Mhz, this issue no longer exists! Butter smooth every time.

fyi - while playing the video with mplayer/xvid, it never uses 900mhz constantly. It's the "spurts" that were required during switching etc which was lacking at 600Mhz. Now that it has that extra headroom, it can go up to 900mhz for a split second to get the thing done quickly before coming back down to 500mhz. =)

Love it. We now have N920 in our hands. LOL

Re: Overclock the N900?

I've tested 900Mhz for some time:
-The phone is way smoother when running at 900Mhz, it's hard to return at 600Mhz after that, note that the phone is smoother in menu when a heavy app runs in backround: high frenquency are only used when there are realy needed.
-PSX emulation is now near fullspeed
-The browser is now perfectly usable, ultra-reactive and smooth, even with flash contents

adverse effects:
-Eats more battery in intensive use (normal)
-Phone is a bit warmer in intensive use (but not as warm that I imagined)
-Phone informations seems to be broken, I don't know why

I will test video recording tomorrow.
