Just got the 100% CPU bug again and mitäkuuluu is still online. So the 5 minute 5 reconnect limit doesn't help to prevent the bug. It just annoys me :D Had to manually reconnect more than 10 times since the last beta/new official version.

There must be another reason for the cpu hog....
Maybe developer care could assist? Since this is the most wanted app for SailfishOS.


Anyways, Mitäkuuluu users, lets start another donation round for coderus to raise his motivation to fix this annoying bug. I start with 5€ (7$).

i can just disable wakelock to let application sleep and it removes high cpu usage :)

But this would disconnect it in long idle phases, wouldn't it?
Is this a bug from nemo-keepalive?

I had the bug (CPU slowly increasing) with version -3 but not yet with -4.

With this last version I see that Mitak is disconnected in the morning, the wifi is on all the night long, though.

During the day, Mitakuuluu is always connected and automatically switch between mobile network and wifi.

Anyway, I like this version so much as the power consumption is VERY limited. :)

Did I mention I like the special features Mitakuuluu has that are missing in the official app (send a pictures without loss of quality, etc)?

Had logs disabled as I thought the bug is gone. Enabled it now again. Will send logfile when it happens again.

Thats because mitakuuluu since 0.8.1-3 force disconnects if there is too much trouble in connection (5 times within 5 minutes --> disconnect).

it's not force disconnects, it just disabling future reconnects until you connect it manually again :)

i dont know if the problem only on Wlan-Mode, dont check it on 3G. But on 0.8.1 i get very often a disconnected and i have to do a reconnect in the pulldown menu. With 0.8.0 i am connected non stop.... and without batterie drain!

Tried Mitakuuluu today and I must say it's evolved a lot since last time I tried it. This time it will replace the android version on my phone :)
Excellent work Coderus! I really like all the options available and how nice it integrates with the rest of the Sailfish system. I'll definitely use the donate button.

* I hope you can get video recording and sending working in the future. Ideally with some kind of optimizing option (or video format/resolution setting) that makes it possible to send long video recordings.

no i can't get video recording until sailfish doesn't provide amr audio encoder.
Video recording removed until https://together.jolla.com/question/...-capabilities/ not resolved. Vote here if you want video recorder in mitakuuluu.

Hi Coderus,

When taking a photo in Mitakuuluu today my phone went into boot loop and I had to recover through telnet. No log though so I don't know if it really was Mitakuuluu who caused it.

Anyway, now Mitakuuluu won't connect anymore. Do I have to do anything to make it work again? During the time when my Jolla was down I installed Whatsapp on my Galaxy S2 and registered there to be able to talk to my friends. Then when I got Jolla working again I tried Mitakuuluu, but couldn't connect. Therefor I installed the native android whatsapp client on Jolla and registered successfully there. I then tried to connect with Mitakuuluu again without success. What am I missing? :o

Today i had first time high cpu usage again since 0.8.1. I also used usb dev mode / tethering the first time since 0.8.1. So I have a slight feeling that it could be related.?

Other protocols usually just increase gradually the time between reconnections but never stop trying...

For example you can try the fibonnaci sequence ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fibonacci_number ) beggining in the 5th element:

1st connect
If fail -> Wait 5 seconds and try to reconnect
If fail -> Wait 8 seconds and try to reconnect
If fail -> Wait 13 seconds and try to reconnect
...

So in the first minute of fails (counting 3 seconds for try) we will have (3+5+3+8+3+13+3+21 = 59 seconds) 4 reconections, but for having 4 reconnections more we will use: 3+34+3+55+3+89+3= 190 seconds, more than 3 minutes...

Fibonacci sequence: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233...

I am registered in github but can't see any option for voting, just the "vote" tag in some bugs.

Click on the feature request you want to vote on. The first post in the thread should have a link for voting.

Btw, add your suggestion/request of a fibonacci protocol for handling reconnections in Mitakuuluu. I like it a lot ;)

I have used another device with official Whatsapp app, now I can't access to Mitakuuluu, what have I to do? If I remember, I have to delete my account from the other device, but it tells me I'll lose my groups and anything else, it's real? Or I'll lose it only in that device?
