my point is bleeding edge is to improve old tech. It can be buggy, but as any mature software can still have bugs. But everytime we associate bleeding tech with bugs and it's not right and not as should be. So it's not even an excuse

Some update on the Spreadsheet that might include mild privacy concerns.
Thanks to Prometheus and VlaoMaos effort we now have a reliable and easy to access source for IGG backer number.
Unifying both spreadsheets could associate your enterd username (maybe TMO/TWTR/TJC) with your realname if provided in the IGG Backer.txt.

I ran a loose regular expression assisted injection to link backer.txt and the spreadsheet for users that gave similar names in both sheets.

Everyone affected please check and notice me if you are concerned, i will anonymize or delete your records instantly on your command.

Anyone intersted in completing his record with IGG# nevertheless, may also ping me again (pm or tabletpre at mosushi dot com), i'll gladly update.

My proposal for anonymization would be changing your given username to the backer.txt igg# number only, as this is public on IGG site already.

Doesn't make much sense to me as not even all who did complete their orders from the 1st wave of invitations have got their tablets yet. Wouldn't it make sense to "release reservations" only after the first wave has been processed? I mean those who ordered immediately on Sept. 22nd.

I think that is due different models (32 vs 64 GB). My guess is that in the first run they only produced 64 GB models.

Should the order status change from Paid to something else when the tablet is shipped? I paid the taxes on mine 22/9 and haven't heard anything since.

According to attah at TJC status changes from paid to shipped in the store. There has been reports that it might take a day or two for the status to update after the tablet has been shipped.

This isn't pretty. We are still waiting for completion of first batch.

Contact jolla helpdesk.

There should certainly be no trouble with the hardware. Whether there exists software support for the device, however, is the question. I'm not sure there is good Linux support for Blackgold devices... They do seem to have a Linux driver, but no clue how well it works.

Did you receive tracking number in Jolla email or from DHL?
If yes follow it from the dhl.com.
Finnish Customs need some data as well and if you do not provide them tablet will stay there.

Contact Jolla if you did not receive tracking number.

No tracking number or anything besides "Congrats on placing an order", and that was a month ago. I guess the shipping has started with those who paid last instead of those who paid first... Just frustrating to see many people getting theirs and mine being stuck somewhere. :(

Mine changed from "Paid" to "On Hold". The shop allowed me to put the order on October 1st (without Invitation). And I am still waiting...............

And what exactly were you expecting if you used a backdoor? In your case, you just need to wait for your turn to get invited, then your payment will have been made already.

So here's a pickle.

I got the thank you for contributing mail on 11/19/14 at 12:58 PM GMT+2. Since then I haven't received an invite as many others around here. Now the fun part I live in Greece which at the moment is under capital controls meaning that sending money abroad is a bit problematic. Recently I paid for a game on steam and also paid for a certification through VUE but other transactions fail. Not sure what would happen when I got the invite, that is if they ever sent it to me.

You should probably contact care as your concern is legit and I'm sure they have to think about how to go around this issue for others like you.

If it helps any, I'm in the same boat. I paid taxes/finalised my order also over a month ago, and still no shipping confirmation.

Re: Jolla tablet countup to delivery[Now With Poll]

Jollas response time absolutely depends on the matter you are contacting them from my humble experiences and what is to read here and on TJC

slow/not existant:
- Warranty issue regarding display
- Service issues depending on rare parts
- Sending out Jolla Phones and accessories (ordered/recieved, no com. inbetween)
- Questions on TJC involving uncalculatable workforce requirements

fast:
- check/confirm your IGG contribution
- "Are you still alive" requests
- Small Bugs reported on TJC that slipped through Q&A and are fast to fix.

So @Zoxir, i would also recommend you to contact care now. Keep your answer short and possibly make it answerable with yes or no.

I did three times this quarter and always got a satisfying answere within 12 hours.

Not changing the topic. Pointed out that you were right, there seems to have been no developer loan programme aside from dirk. What do you expect me to do more? Cancel my jolla newsletter subscription? Can remove my tattoo from forehead I guess

I did not use a Backdoor, since I entered through the Main Door.

I just logged in in the shop and I was given the option to order the tablet. I do not know if I got an invite or not since it is not the first time that the spam filter of my domain rejects emails from Jolla....

Is the aluminum frame part rare? I am aware of a fast customer service reply and proposal to replace this for no less than 50 Euro ex. shipping and user repair is not an option.

What I meant is this: IF you received no invite, THEN you used a backdoor (read: you accessed a semi private shop and managed to pay taxes in advance). So, you just have to wait, like others who did the same thing.

The good news is that when your turn comes, you don't need to worry about paying.

Next Tablet Review coming in by gearopen.com

[wild-theory-mode-based-on-false-assumptions: on]
The picture that Jolla sends out more Review-Units than Dev-Loan Devices hardens...

Honestly, makes little sense to me in light of the "we are a OS company" strategy and the obvious trouble to maintain the existing userbase with service and care.
Is another batch of tablets planned that is not already sold and needs marketing?
Sure looks like, doesn't it?.[wild-theory-mode: off]

One of the reviews suggests that the review device is used multiple times, so it isn't that they give it away: they recall it after the reviewer is done (which is bad for the review as a reviewer could mishandle the device).

This shared loan model is common practice amongst tech reviewers. The last reviewer I saw of this instance was for the new AMD Radion 390 gpu where they found the card was running hot. On closer inspection they noticed some screws had their finish etched away, where a previous reviewer had performed a strip down and not bothered to re-apply any fresh paste.

If review devices are the same few and there are almost non devs who got device, what loan devices Jolla was talking about?
That's exactly the point of openness and communication. When i asked them on twitter, they told they are concerned about those devs privacy :)

Hi my friends

Short question: is there anybody else who was under the first contributors on indiegogo, received the invitation for the order a few weeks ago, paid the tax but hasn't heard anything since tgeb from jolla regarding delivery since then?
still waiting and being jealous to the "real" early birds who already got the tablet :(

Actually, I find that positive.

-reviewers should be genuinely interested and feel motivated to fulfill their assignment instead of dropping a few lines in trade for new free toys.

-2nd hand device review does not mean it can't be a completer review..the review put forward by mosen above http://gearopen.com/tablets/jolla-tablet-review-18104/ is better than the one from Engadget and covers briefly the loudspeaker performance... Many "reviewers" don't even bother to allocate extra precious bytes to that.

-I am not interested in lengthy descriptions of unboxing ceremonies.

-even with review copies handed out for free you rarely find reviewers revisiting their first review with an update after 3 months of usage / after software upgrade... A free device is a high price to pay for a one shot, rushed out review that seems to be the a sign of diminishing interest in tablets and an overload of models.

-If drop / pet / toddler tests were to be performed on the device as part of the final benchmark things would be different but..
