well there is several things to try:
-uninstall and install update again
-uninstall and insrall current theme u have
-try to find the icon in all those files and replace it (tricky one but i made it as a newbie so can u)

:D

As it turned out, I tried rebooting again. And this time, it worked. Maybe it's just a case of having to cycle through a few times. Or maybe it's just being fickle...

Oh well, problem solved in any case.

I post them here in case...

edit: please note that there is no background, just alpha.
The gray background is because of selection to get the screenshot and see the white borders.

wow, gotta LOVE this one! BY FAR the best batterysymbol-mod, although its propably also one of the simplest :D

anyway, what i wanted to say: i installed these, and the device updated and showed them on the fly!
why did that happen? is it because its charging (dues to the usb-connection) and its refreshing the symbols?

btw are there also statusarea-files of this?

Good point. The charging would do a refresh as well as waiting for a change in the icon.

I' ve already made many hacks from this thread but I want to ask something which is not mentioned. The reboot button problem which bricks the device after some reboots (48 count by 3) is it solved in PR1.1?
