The effort with this app is appreciated, but one huge advantage Canola has is integration of media for both the internal and microsd memory. Canola treats it all as one media database source, rather than two separately accessed sources. It allows shuffle play from both sources and as one source.

If Media Box can be updated to support both storage areas as one source for playback, it would replace Canola for me.

Important for me since have MP3's loaded on internal and 32gb microsd.

It does all this, if you're using indexing. What you're referring to is just the file based browser. Tracker is used by default for indexing, but you can also add other stuff to the index that tracker hasn't discovered yet.

Some more bugreports...
1. Clear all index (also files.idx). Open Music/Albums while media is indexing. No elements found (which is correct). Indexing finishes. Go up one level and back to Albums. Still no media found.
2. For some FLAC files tags are not read. All the tags are 'unspecified', meanwhile for other FLAC files everything is correct and in default mediaplayer tags for all files are read correctly.
3. Again Albums: while loading albums' covers going in some album and back stops cover thumbnailing, but not all of the thumbs created, so thumbnailing does not continue. If I go one level up (to Music) and back to Albums thumbnailing continues, but it skips the album, on which it stopped, even though cover art for it exists.

I stand corrected! I have so much stuff it took time to complete. How do you get the app to shuffle play all songs in collection?

Switch to shuffled mode in the menu. Go to Music/Albums/All Tracks (or /Music/Folders/All Tracks in older versions) and start playing.

Can you provide me an example FLAC where tags don't work?
MediaBox reads Vorbis tags on FLAC as the FLAC spec recommends these.
But other tag formats might be in use, too.

great app! am using this more often than the default player. but for the widget i still use the default media player. is it possible to retain playback on widget when main window is closed and only re-appears if widget is double tapped? i mean for now i use shortcut instead of widget for mediabox since the main window remains open all the time anyway. thanks again !

thanks a lot for new version (09.11)
excellent work
one question/suggestion: will it be possible to change font size in media browsing, especially music?
i use +1 font changer everywhere else and default one in mediabox is (for me) a bit too small

oh, also, as i asked previously some time ago, are you planning implementing rating system (for songs) readable in itunes e.g. ?

Actually I was using my laptop. :)
Currently I do a lot of coding on train as I'm commuting daily. I do C++ on train, too.
