Just wondering, all the links that people are having to edit... are they links to the leaked PR 1.3? Are we allowed to post screenshots?

Yes, posting links to pirated proprietary software is against forum rules.

Screenshots are fine, as always, assuming the content isn't inappropriate...

There's actually a per-user block feature to the forum. It works well but you still see their posts quoted by others.

Edit: click here to edit your ignore list. I have three users on mine and it has been very refreshing.

Most times parallel imports are the exact same product, but bypassing the official distributor means passing on their fat profits as savings onto the customer, that's why it can be much cheaper (plus the parallel importers don't have to pay for marketing :))

Only 3? 15 here meanwhile :D
(OK, many of those don't show up on t.m.o. anymore, probably banned.)

I can only strongly advise to follow flandry's suggestion. (Flandry? Can you read this?) - I promise you'll never miss one single useful post.... And once you identified "them" and put them on ignore, you'll notice how much faster you skim through long threads: most of the noise already filtered out by the server.

would be nice if you get banned automatically when...lets say 50 people add you to ignore list.

People would abuse that. - But it would be cool if new users could subscribe to a ignore list that includes the 5 users that are most often (manually) put on ignore. This way, they'd have a chance to enter a relatively "clean" forum without even getting to know the trolls.

behind the scenes lots of people are giving eachother the link to this 1.3 version like i got mine.

What i didnt know is that its pirated software? isnt a firmware update free... and so can it be illegal to download and install? I dont think so... its not even sure its official from nokia because they havent said anything so it could as well be from a forummember who made it.

The mods are taking conclusions they should not make! you cant call it pirated software if you dont even know the source and the copyright of it. You guys are against the rules forbidding "maybe" legal software.

How far are you willing to take that argument? If it is illegal in 50% of countries, is it "maybe" illegal?
Will you as site moderator be willing to take up legal threats if you do allow or do not condone questionable software?
t.m.o as far as I know is a community driven site which means it definitely does not have enough resources to counter even a spurious DMCA takedown request.

Welcome to this sue-happy world.

Forum members don't have license to distribute the closed source, proprietary applications that are included in a Maemo firmware image, so such an image would be in violation of copyright and forum rules.

It'd be useful if Flash 10.1 for any mobile device (including Android) had the GPU acceleration. But last time I read Android Flash news, even their builds of 10.1 flash don't have GPU acceleration. So the main advantage of getting Flash 10.1 on a mobile device is for the features that aren't present in Flash 9.

OMG! are u saying Flash 10.1 is not accelerated on Android :-O and people here are whinning about we dont have flash 10 on N900.

Atleast we have accelerated Flash9 and its FAR better than no Accel cause I am sure 10.1 will EAT even more battery if not accel....
