v0.8.1 still has the CPU/Battery issue (Bug #141), any point in sending logs?

Let's hope the "bug" is fixed and the fibonacci is implemented soon :)
My Jolla is getting really hot and drains battery fast while Mitakuuluu is running.

Hi Coderus et al. Where is Mitakuuluu chat history now stored?

Edit: Figured it out... selecting profile with long press on contact in chat list and then pulling down to save chat history does nothing. Flicking left from conversation screen to access profile works and history is saved to documents as it should be. :)

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum. I've installed the latest version of Mitakuuluu and seem to have a connection problem. After 15-20 Minutes of inactivity it disconnects and I have to reconnect manually.
Is this a known bug?

coderus 2014-08-04 15:30

Re: [v0.8.1] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

x-revo: it is a feature

Hi coderus,

thanks for your answer. Is it somehow possible to stay connected?
I'd like to get Whatsapp messages pushed automatically all the time.

^^ +2 here too. I have 0.8.0 and i can upload it here, so you can download and wait that "feature" goes away. I cant use Mitakuuluu with that feature at all..

Morpog 2014-08-05 05:22

Re: [v0.8.1] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

0.80 is worse, it shows you online on the cover and when you enter the app it reconnects. So the whole time you thought you were online in fact you were offline.

0.81 is at least reliable, offline is offline and online is online.

Just wait a few days for next version.

changing keepalive settings does not stick; after a reboot they are on the original value again..

v0.8.2-2 with registration bugfix and keepalive settings uploaded

If you have not enough votes for implementing your wishes, you can donate to author and send link to issue at github you donating for.

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Is Keepalive settings getting saved with the latest version available in Openrepos with others?

My mitakuuluu doesn't save and change keepalive settings no matter what I try...

Btw, Coderus, what does keepalive exactly do?

coderus 2014-08-07 18:35

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

it's keep connection alive :)

Boxeri 2014-08-07 19:17

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Yes, naturally, but does it check the connection all the time or only on the minute interval we set? I am wondering this because of possible battery effects. After ie. 20 connections attemps it stops trying? But if I check manually to mitakuuluu this will resett the keepalive timer?

Also the keepalive settings change is not working for me no matter what I do. They always revert back to 1 minut and 20 reconnections

coderus 2014-08-07 19:21

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

oh...
application will stop reconnecting if it reach your reconnection count in reconnection interval. understand?
keepalive is system heartbeat timer waking up phone every 10 minutes to prevent deep sleep and disconnect.

Morpog 2014-08-07 19:58

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Not sure if we need the keepalive settings anymore, since the update it never disconnected. Also no 100% cpu bug yet.

Lets see if it stays that way.

XiliX 2014-08-07 19:59

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

does the phone enter deep sleep in between the keepalive intervals?
and the settings still dont stick... :)

it's just ui bug, setting is saved.

coderus 2014-08-07 20:57

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Hi

Today I was using mitakuuluu without any problem and suddently, I'm receiving a registration failed message. Now, when I restart mitakuuluu, the app shows the registration window.

The file .config/coderus/mitakuuluu2.conf is empty. If I try to register I never get the sms or voice call.

Any ideas? I'm using version 0.8.2-3

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

have logfile option enabled to have possibility to send me logfile if some troubles with application ;)

javiermon 2014-08-15 16:40

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Well, now I only get the registration window, so no option to get logs or anything other than try to register...

coderus 2014-08-15 17:30

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

if you have logfile option enabled its in /tmp/mitakuuluu2.log

I don't have it. In fact the configuration file is empty, not sure why because this morning everything was fine.

coderus 2014-08-15 18:18

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

as i said it will be created only if you had "Save logs" option enabled

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

I've managed to receive the sms via wart. Maybe the device id string needs to be changed? Anyway, thanks for the hints.

Forgot to say I also tried getting the registration code from https://coderus.openrepos.net/whitesoft/whatsapp_sms and it didn't work either.

coderus 2014-08-15 19:17

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

i cannot answer you without seeing logs. probably i'll enable logs for registration process.

robnas 2014-08-24 20:47

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Is there a possibility for Mitakuuluu to don't give a notification/sound when a new message is received within, say 10 seconds? At this moment there are a lot of people cutting their messages in parts and this results in *pliew**pliew**pliew**pliew**pliew**pliew*......*p liew**pliew*.....*pliew*
Please don't say to say the people to send their messages in one piece. They won't. And software needs to be foolproof, because human aren't.

Re: [v0.8.2] Mitakuuluu - indie WhatsApp client for Sailfish - Support thread

Strange thing happening to me on v0.8.2-3:

I finally managed to connect to the WiFi at work. I had to create a wifi.config file manually. Phone shows I'm connected over wifi.

When I start Mitakuuluu it keeps reconnecting over and over till it reaches the reconnect maximum specified in the options.
I disabled mobile data connection, so only connection using wifi is active. Same behaviour. But Phone seems to be online, as I can visit websites without problems.

Anyone else experience this problem?
