It is somewhat low on horizontal columns "3wsx" and "0ol!".
I thought its normal, but maybe my expectations are just to low and it could be even better ;)

By wonky meant it wasn't getting triggered at first (backligt kicked in once then went off) but now seems fine after visiting settings

Received mine today (boring combination with QWERTY), awesome work. Gotta get used to the small keys now, but much better than those virtual keyboards!
I seriously love the magnets, but too bad my desks' top has a sheet of metal close to the surface ;)

Thanks a bunch Dirk, Andrew and Kimmo!

For beta'ers: 0.3.12.1 in mer obs.

Changelog

I will freeze this for now, if no new issues are found.
Waits for some translations to be finished, then to Harbour QA

Re: TOHKBD rev2

Tested your beta driver with my qwertz now.

Findings so far:
Switching of keyboard layout works generally (correct position of 'Z' and 'Y'). Umlauts don't work at all and some of the special characters are not working (£, €, µ, ...).

It happened two times to me that the display orientation got not reset correctly after closing/removing the keyboard. Could not find a way to reproduce this.

The rest works just fine: No "freezing" keys or something.

Thank you very much for your hard work!

hmm... one possible improvement for rev3: have the speed bumps on kbd part, and holes in base, would remove that tiny gap caused by bumps resting on keys
(btw, don't lose hope, my # wasn't in the doc at all)

My worst fear is that my TOHKBD, having such strong magnets, is stuck to the ceiling of the delivery truck, unbeknownst to the the delivery man...

I've found that the keyboard part sticks to fridges and other metallic surfaces pretty well. The phone+TOH isn't quite strong enough though, which disappointingly prevents fridge-mounting your Jolla.

I do have a question concerning the spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?pli=1#gid=0 .

Finally my order appeared in the left column. Which afaiunderstand the built ones; It's not listed in the right column, which is supposed to show what?

I'm asking because i managed to be quite patient while i couldn't find my order listed, (by just checking the spreadsheet now and then) now i feel the urge to monitor my postbox permanently....

hence, the right column is not updated

Antti Saarnio just made a comment on fb that jolla is confirming further commitment to the TOH concept! Good news for TOHKBD?!

Thanks guys for caring. You are true fans for it. Although these are bold moves for a start-up the reasons behind are very logical: 1) HW business can't be justified with Jolla's R&D investment level, 2) To justify investment level, Sailfish OS must scale with licensing partners, 3) Serving licensing business is a huge task for us, focus is needed (imagine you having several big time customers demanding attention), 4) Producing Jolla phones is very different sport and also requires focus (customers are important), 5) Both businesses have very different kind of investors: Sailfish OS: big, expecting scale, Devices: smaller, mostly private. Selling two in one is very difficult. ...Most importantly, what you see here is commitment. We are very committed to build and conquer with Sailfish OS and we also want Jolla devices to show its full potential (with TOH). Thats why were are brave enough to me bold, Unlike moves ;)

Antti Saarnio

TBH I don't think one can make such a leap based on that vague statement, we'll have to wait & see, they've said many similar vague things before that've not materialised*, delivery is what matters now, not platitudes/talk.

/OFF-TOPIC
*in some cases because that's never what they meant (but that was the interpretation), in others maybe it was

Should it be compatible? NO NO NO NO definitely not

Do I have good reasons for this? Yes

Have I told these over and over? Yes

Will people reply to this with sad smiley or say it should be compatible? Yes

Could you give a link? I am curious over the bad features of the current TOH and how it should be improved. BTW, can't the issues be fixed in a backwards compatible way?

Re: TOHKBD rev2

Finally I have recieved my shipment today morning! But somehow I am not happy. Actually I am confused, shocked and disappointed.

First of all: keyboard piece does not have backplate:

http://self-perfection.homeip.net/im..._backplate.jpg

Circuit board is not fixed in TOH cover. Am I supposed to glue it myself?

However, If I combine pieces together keybord works... Sort of. Probably I just have to get accustomed to it and press harder, but often pressed buttons does not react, especially space button.

I have a feeling that I have by mistake received kind of prototype device.

I was beginning to wonder if I'd get the Jolla Tablet before TOHKBD, but no :D. #341 arrived today(I don't see it on the spreadsheet). All the keys work & only 2 have poor(ish) response, left & up arrow keys. Now waiting for the next SFOS update to get scandic letters working.

@dirkvl Is the circuit board not being fixed to TOH intentional?

yes, the phone keeps it in place. no need for glue there, would destroy the possibility to change colour at some point
