Re: New members say hello !
Hello all! Joined here a couple of months ago when I bought a 2nd hand N900. I come from the days of Captain Zilog/Z80 homebrews, and spent 10 years writing Windows NT device drivers, so I'm loving the access that the N900 brings, and I'm using it to learn about Linux.
The effort and love you guys have put into it makes the N900 unique! You all deserve something special - I hope the N9 turns out to be some kind of reward! |

Re: New members say hello !
What have you installed?
This seems like it's a battery monitoring program. Open your application manager and remove all things not required (battery). Leave your system standard. What battery programs have you installed? |
Re: New members say hello !
Hello guys,
I welcome everyone to post their greetings here, and troubleshooting discussions will crowd that out. Can we move tech issues to a separate thread? I'm betting there's already one for the problem cited here. Thanks. |

Re: New members say hello !
Hi there, or maybe hallo as I'm living in the Netherlands.
I guess at this forum I'm the outsider, not even having an N900 yet. Even worse, I'm living at a permanent war with computers most of the time, leading me to more or less throwing some PDA's to the wall. Nevertheless, I've never been one to follow a leader if I could find my own way. So I bought Apple computers when all around me drooled over windows and a second E90 when Android appeared to be the pot of gold usually found under a rainbow. And now I've "discovered" the N900 as a result of seeing the Meego promo by Nokia. I was looking at an e7, in spite of 4 salesmen, as I like my privacy and this seems more to be the case with Maemo-Meego as in Android or Windows. Got a nice offer from a shop for a new "demo" model yet I'm in doubt. A smiliar priced e7 comes with spoken navigation and quite some applications; I "need" twitter, linkedIn, facebook and of course I have to be able to receive and sent text messages, e-mail and, lo and behold, phone calls, (voice-)dialing and great inventions like that. So I need for a (moral) support guy or gal that can perform some kind of magic when I get lost at installing. For the time being I will use my e90 but after summerperiod the n900 needs to prove it's qualities. Does anybody know somebody like that in the Groningen part of the Netherlands? Thanks! JohnPeter |
Re: New members say hello !
Hello, all.
I'll make this brief. I love my N900, best phone and computer ever. I'm on my second one after the USB port fell out of my first one, it was under warranty so no problem there. I hope to stick around for a while and now I'm off to talk about the N9. |

Re: New members say hello !
hello, bought a n900 from my friend 2 months ago. my friend didn't know the power of n900, so he just used it as a regular phone. But I have overclocked it, installed nitrdroid on emmc, reflashed this phone 3 times and hey journey has just started with this phone, really love it.like a mini lappy in your pocket, i just wish if this phone could have 1gb of RAM and bang, it would have been unstopable beast. A tons of thanks to the maemo community:) for bringing new hacks every day:cool: No other phone can do the hacks which my phone can do:D

Re: New members say hello !
One thing more, after using this phone, i have develop my love for n950, I know it will be given to devs only. Is there any way to get it, or any phone similar to that. I know about n9, but n9 is missing physical keyboard.

Re: New members say hello !
Hey guys, I've had my trusty n900 for a over a year now, and have been loving it - use it to hack away at my own python apps on my hour-long commute twice per day to and from work.
Now I'm stuck in the same position I was with the N95 before I got this - stuck with no acceptible upgrade path, so I guess I'll stick with this and try to muck in as part of the community. |
Re: New members say hello !
Yes, I'm a newbie here and have had my Nokia 810N with WiMax for almost a year and love it! I was trying to install the android system as mentioned in a post at TheBuzzMedia.com and got to where I was suppose to load TabletHacker.com and the damn Nokia said low memory and stopped! By the way how long does it take to download from TabletHacker.com with all that code on the Nokia 810N?
I'm a former CBS News investigative reporter turned serial entrepreneur. Thanks, Hugh:cool: |
