Well if you are overly considerate of "everyone" on a open website such as this you get a very sterilized atmosphere. I´d even go so far as to say that it would be extremely bland.
I disagree with. you can still have a forum where everyone respects one another, another and it would still be a great place. I am also a member of the Ubuntuforums, archlinux, fedora and kde forums. This are some of the most active and interesting forums you can find anywhere. Yet people respect each other. Dont cast out of context insults at one another in the name of ***jokes**. Its maemo talk should be as such. This is suppose to be a very friendly community. Its should be a place were we can come interacts learn, socialize ( at least not have insults poked at you). Sure its an open forum. But we need to have a standard on what is acceptable and what is not.

There is always at least one "sensitive" person in the crowd that needs to be packed in cotton for safeguarding These people made reference to the scam emails most other countries receive from Nigeria. I don´t think anyone necessarily expects bigbrova to be sending those out personally, but that´s probably what people think of when Nigeria comes to mind. And that is entirely up to the Nigerians themselves to change.
Dude what does that have to do with my initial comment. every country has its sore spot, and perceptions people have about them. does that mean we should all start poking fun at every post its citizen make in a forum.? I made a post about my order be canceled. he saw from my profile i was from Nigeria and that was it. It shouldn't have to be that way mate. every country has got sore spot. I am not here to defend Nigeria ( I have not even done so because that is beside the point)

I come from a region where all our means of lively hood farming and fishing are totally destroyed by the operations shell and exon mobile. but you will see me hold every Dutch citizen responsible for the actions of shell? If you feel that its justified then I rest my case. I have made my point known anyway

sorry to see that the torrent of stupidity flowed here recently doesn't have any manners at all.

bigbrovar, i suggest that you let it be. I have recent experiences about arguing with the torrent and it ended up to the point that I am very bad publicity to nokia (wtf?!?). just like playing chess with a pigeon I think.

Saying we run on 'scams, like Nigeria' has nothing to do with racism, has to do with cold hard proven fact's. The guy said nothing about race, religion, gender, he merely included a State within his statement.

Nigeria counts second ( behind China) for the most internet scams and account hackings worldwide then any other country

Source: NY Times, NY Post, USA Today, Dept of State, Wikipedia ( although not really a legit source ), LA Times, Fox News....if you want anymore I'm sure I could find you some more.

Let's be honest, who here is actually surprised that underpaid and overworked data workers would sell on our details for a few extra quid? Given the number of uninvited calls to our unlisted phone numbers, we know for a fact that somebody has been dishing our personal contacts to those Nigerian princes and caring loan consolidators,

Another day, another barrage off calls to the nokia stores through out the UK. I think my phone line, now knows automatically what number i'am planning to dial, and just dials automatically without me pressing a button. Talk about keeping them under the thumb...lol

FYI those with t-mobile contracts, someone probably had sold your data to other operators, who then cold-called you when your contracts are due to expire...
T-Mobile staff sold personal data. Staff at mobile firm T-Mobile sold millions of records from thousands of customers

At 4:32am this morning I got an email from the Nokia Online shop here in Germany. The email is in German, however I can post it if asked. It said that the wait is over!! I almost pissed my pants when I read that! Then it just goes on to say there is a definite delivery date, Nov. 25th. Which I was being told all along.. One thing they did do though was apologize for the delay since an October release date was initially quoted to me when I pre-ordered. Then it just goes on to say they will do all they can to get the N900 to me as soon as possible and make sure the bank/credit card details I gave are up to date. Oh, almost forgot, because they sent me this email, it said their 60 day guarantee kicks in. Meaning I don't receive the product in 60 days it's their fault and I receive some sort of.. something. Sorry! My German isn't perfect so not exactly sure what it is I get. That and haven't had my morning coffee yet.

finally it is so far! we can give you an approximate delivery date. we EXPECT that the product will be available at the 25th of november.

what does that say?

Here, you want to read something? well why don't you read one of our letters which is being written by one of our overpaid managers who does nothing all day but write these stupid letters which say exactly what the website already said and add his salary to how much your phone costs.

fkkn world.
