Re: Factory sticker ruining my screen protector
Oh for goodness sake - argument ad nauseum.
The transport film is terrible for prolonged use; I used it till I received a proper screen protector a few weeks later. The film scratches easily and shouldn't be expected to last long at all. When you buy a digital watch or a calculator you also expect a similar film - this keeps dust off of the screen so it's "pristine" when opened - nothing more and nothing less! And no - I don't think Nokia ought to be providing us with OEM screen protectors just as I wouldn't expect them to be providing me with a bluetooth headset, car charger, digital camera, etc Screen protectors can be purchased VERY cheaply from DealExtreme. I have one of the 4.3" ones on my N800 atm, and will be ordering one for my N810 tomorrow. |
Re: Factory sticker ruining my screen protector
I have bought a number of touchscreen devices in the last 6-7 years and not one of them came with screen protector. I wouldn't expect Nokia to start a new trend either.

if a manufacturer find any such protection is required. Not including accesories like screen protector means exactly, the manufacturer find any such protection is not required. So your touchscreen should be scratch-free for a whole of its life-time. If it's not true you should claim replacement any time. There is no need to buy any extra accessories delivered by third parties for a quality product under Consumer Protection Act. What you pay for and get is ready to use, complete and in safe operational condition. Violation of Consumer Rights is not providing a consumer with any and every required accesories part for a normal use. Darius |

N810 comes at 600$ in EU Screen protectors by third parties comes with no certification to be fit for any special purpose. So I prefer home-made eco wood stickers made on my own not scratching touchscreen at all. Manufacturers of touchscreen devices show no special attention to make touchscreen lasting for years. Damaged touchscreen with many scratches is really good ground to buy a new model, generating more profit than well protected touchscreen device. So there is still a room for fine-tuners of touchscreen devices. Darius l |

Whoever thought of placing the security sticker on the N810 screen is a complete muppet - it really wasn't necessary, and has trashed what is a perfectly viable short-medium term screen protector. |
