I'm normally a freeforall type who doesn't like censorship, but I don't feel the filter has impeded much. It's sometimes a surprise when something I am so used to is replaced by stars. I have never understood what opposition to profanity is all about, since one can simply replace profanity with a literal definition and not be censored and be a lot more offensive in the bargain. But people rarely do that.

Not going to sift through the thread. Let's not forget the kiddie filters and company firewalls that block profanities. If they're allowed then I don't suppose a few ITT pages would become inaccesable.
