IT Advisor in mental health services, NHS .....

By staff, perhaps. I take plenty of abuse from in-patients. :D

Staff are generally polite to me, and especially so on IT issues. If something goes wrong, it tends to be "Kaath! Will you ring 1717 for us!" because IT like to try to diagnose over the phone, and most of my colleagues, whilst excellent nurses, HCAs and OTs don't know a network cable from a cable needle, and would begin gibbering psychotically if asked to run the command prompt. ;)

Retired editor and tech support manager.

On vacation from this site too, with its anti-freedom of speech policies even in the off-topic area. Did you ever notice that developers are like athletes in having a lot of fascist tendencies? Modern ones seem to be, of course not true of all of them. Even the libertarians, oddly enough.

I'm not a fanatical leftist, by the way, something that some might assume. I'm completely in the moderate camp, conflicting with extreme leftists as much as extreme rightists.

It used to be that when I saw posts like these I smiled, because you could see common threads...

...but lately, I feel they are a recruiter strategy towards finding people for slots.

Blame it on my gig as a consultant, or as an analyst of those things mobile, web, and culture ;)
