Well, Maemo's ought to be a caterpillar or a tadpole -- some critter that suffers highly discontinuous transformations and essentially ends its existence before growing up.

i think we still need a maemo mascot just for the simple reason we can get him hidden in meego some where as a ever lasting legacy to maemo b/c its being left behind as we are moving on to meego

Ack. I just can't get my brain around the "MeeGo" name. Sounds so... childish for a platform. Anyway this looks pointless now, sooo...

Well as it is announced that Harminton (SP?) is the offical Nokia branding for the instance of MeeGo that used to be Maemo 6

We do still have a separate product just with a MeeGo Harminton branding.

Seems that a good way to keep the Maemo history would be to create a Harmiton mascot that remembers the AE of Maemo.

I still think a personified character out of the AE would be cool.

I the current AE in the site logo could be changed into a hedgehog fairly easy,

Failing that a upper case A could form the body of a penguin with a lowercase e as the head.
