Re: MindMapping for N900
The speed is fine once the app is fully loaded.
Java for N900 has been available for awhile now. The file I have is ejre-1_6_0_21-fcs-b09-linux-arm-vfp-eabi-min-27_sep_2010.ar.gz. Search the forums for more details. I think this is the direct link: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/ja...sp-135769.html Get the ARMv7 Linux - Headful version. I extracted mine to /opt. Java is in /opt/ejre/bin/java. You may need to add execute bits to the binaries in bin using chmod. Then download freemind and extract it. I have it in /home/user/MyDocs/Downloads/freemind. Open terminal and set JAVA_HOME and then 'sh freemind.sh'. Code:
[2|user@Nokia-N900|~/MyDocs/Downloads/freemind]export JAVA_HOME=/opt/ejre1.6.0_21/ |

This is a quite bogus problem. We think that there are some problems with the pyo files precompiled against different version of PySide library. You can try to remove the pyo files that came along with HiveMind. To do this run: Code:
find /opt/maemo/usr/share/hivemind/ -name '*.pyo' | sudo xargs rm |

You can extract and copy the files over or apt-get zlib-bin and then use miniunzip on the N900 itself. |
Re: MindMapping for N900
Hivemind works perfectly for me, and it is much better than Freemind because it's made for the N900 environment. However, I'm not sure why you are having this problem.

This is strange, do you still have the installed copy of HiveMind? 2 jackburton First of all HiveMind is being developed as a cross-platform application for both mobile and desktop environments, so we actually have "PC version of the HiveMind", but there are no rpms or debs available at the moment. We are planning to provide them in the late spring. In the meantime you can use version from the mercurial repository. If you are interested we will create a corresponding manual on how to install and run HiveMind on your Linux distributive (Windows installer is on the way to production mode, if you interested in that platform) HiveMind uses modified FreeMind fileformat. This means that all the mind map that we made in the HiveMind will be opened in FreeMind and vice versa. But there are some limitations: FreeMind does not support link labels and node/label formatting propagation, HiveMind on the other hand does not support arrowlinks, images and may be some other less needed stuff (if you think that this feature is really needed to be implemented be free to post a bug/feature request on the project tracker). |
