Repository is so slow. I think people don't know what they're downloading. I haven't got a chance to grab it yet, but it seems like the netbook image didn't have qt in it.

Is meego built on something or is it coded from 0 (apart from the linux kernel)?

It has a fairly familiar Linux userspace as well, just like maemo and Moblin.

To the teams that were involved with this initial release, great work. I think it is very positive to see a release in such a short space of time and it's good to know that things are on track according to the schedule.

I am very impressed too.
Once I started making my own Linux distribution, but I dropped the idea after some basic work when I realized how much work it is.
It's amazing how quick the working MeeGo was created.

Does anyone have an idea how can this be dual booted with fremantle?
Where should I put the file, for example?

This is a great start.

For all the users who don't get it, we can literally watch the OS from the beginning to the end of development. Getting insights to how decisions are made etc. This is having control over your device at a whole new level. Previous maemo releases we had to wait for Nokia to release firmware packages, development for Meego is done completely in the open.

This is a lot bigger than simply having no Ovi store and no fancy UI available on day 1. If you want something that simply works and has 1000's of apps eye candy etc you will probably be waiting till end of the year. There is a May release that will have UX packages and another release in October.

Probably you've seen it before. But it's fake anyway.
