Re: Another iTard commercial
@ bchliu I'm right with you. iHater or not, their ads are misleading and the public just seem to lap it up. My kids are at an independent school and while other parents are hoovering up Apple products in their droves, we only consume their mp3 players. My kids understand that the iPad advert declaring it as being 'incredibly powerful' is a crock, but their friends sadly believe only the hype - making my kids look like the numbskulls amongst their peers! The irony of this situation is lost on a nine and seven year old.
If Apple said something like "The iPad makes extremely efficient use of it's tiny processor and GPU for impressive visual impact" would people still be queuing to buy it, I wonder? |

"The ad is absofrickinlutely inaccurate because it shows a scene where you think a wifi signal shouldn't be available."
Really? That's your argument to get all hot and bothered looking at that ad? I mean there's at least half a dozen things you can criticize more logically to hurt Apple's logic there. But at the end of the day they're pulling the customer's emotional strings with that ad where logic and facts go out the window and they ARE winning big time with that ad. That's what matters in these things. Growing a platform. However you do it, keep your eye on the ball. Even if you don't agree with their tactics and you want to give your morality judgement, understand what these things are doing to the masses and how it affects the smartphone ecosystem. Quote:

Re: Another iTard commercial
nobody is questioning the fact that it sells only the fact that it is a misleading advert which people do not think twice about. Why are you even discussing the feasibility of videocalling/FaceTime over 3g?

"this soldier hasn't seen his pregnant wife in 10 months.."
...oh, come on, people! |
Re: Another iTard commercial
I'm both a happy Apple customer and a happy Nokia customer, but if you don't think the term iTard is funny, then you might be taking yourself too seriously, or you've never been to Los Angeles. I'm from there. That town has single handedly redefined the word "trend" as meaning "cult."
Godwin prevents me from making the proper analogy regarding Hollywood's relationship with Apple. But I'm sure you can imagine the tantrum a studio exec with a big $$$ everything plan has when he can't have his Facetime. I'd like to see that commercial. |
Re: Another iTard commercial
For the record I have been to an OBGYN that had wifi, though I was not inside the actual building. I was waiting outside the hospital, and pulled out my laptop and sure enough, a wifi connection came up saying something like SJ_OBGYN. It was open too.
But then I am sure they would have to be broadcasting outside of the actual medical exam rooms. slaapliedje |
