I fixed the screen glitch last week using the fix by MohommadAG but the laggy phone application continued. I counted 5 rings on the callers phone (when I tested) and others asked why so long to answer etc. I finally bit the bullet and reflashed my n900 and now the phone responds on or milliseconds after the first ring on the callers side. All in all it took about 20 minutes to flash and then use the restore applications feature and I'm back and going with the phone working properly. I looked everywhere for a fix to this and flashing looks like the only answer. |
Re: n900 incoming call problem
Actually, it looks like you have too many running applications - it causes swapping out the phone components and you have delay.
The most suspicious component - trackerd (tracker daemon). It process music and video files to create a list of it for media player. It works in background but in case of video it may grow very big (100MB+) and it could take up to 5-7-10 secs to move it to swap flash into internal 32GB eMMC. So, the solution - kill it via tracker-process tracker-process -k But do it after each reboot again. In addition, there are some "mods" which advices to decrease the frequency of swap-out process in kernel to increase a reactiveness. Yes, it increases reactiveness for small applications but situation comes worse for phone calls... (not sure that you use it). |

Re: n900 incoming call problem
first of all, please LEARN to structure your paragraphs and use proper grammar. It's hard to read what you're trying to say.
2ndly, 5s of ringtime is still a lot, in fact that's more than acceptable. If you want to get back the extra 3s that you lost, making it ring a total of 8s, then's overkill. Unless u react and respond slow to incoming calls, i don't see why u can't pick it up within the first ring.... Aside from that, i don't have any problems with it, but maybe your phone just lags?? Are you on PR 1.2?? |
