No but I got it to work I just uninstalled and force deleted rm -rf /var/opt/rovio/angrybirds
reinstalled and it's all good. got 3level packs too :)

I have known this for luck and backed up my scores.
Really annoying that the game saves the scores in /var....

wtf is wrong with you people? its just a GAME , Personally I fully flashed my phone and lost my score... So what? what's the big deal? Its not like you're competing for getting highest score to win a prize or something?? seriously guys its not worth it, You played the game, you had fun and you might play it again from scratch just for that :)

i reflashed with PR.1.3 and lost all the levels ( and scores) that i bought from the Ovi store previosuly.
Is there any easy way to get the level packs back ?

yes.

install filebox


then go to:

/var/opt/rovio/angry birds

copy those two files to where you want to save them too.


i did a clean install with maemo flasher to pr1.3 and then copied the files back to the /var/opt/rovio/angry birds and it worked like a charm!

but i was hoping that there was a way to get them back the legal way, since these have been paid for already :)

do this:

open xterm
once Midnight commander opens, go to:

/home/user/.osso/hildon-application-manager

and change clean-after-install from 1 to 0 then check /home/user/MyDocs/.apt-archive-cache/ for the debs.

download-packages-to-mmc 1

The file is deleted directly after installation, unless you change clean-after-install as shown above.


ovi store paid applications are stored in the /var/tmp folder.

when you go to download the files from OVI, when it makes you tap on "install/continue", before you do that, go to this /var/tmp folder and copy the installation file to a location you want and then you will have it later.


hope i dont get snubbed for this. so long as you paid for it, you should be able to own it, so long as you are not sharing it illegally.

tried to follow your instructions, but couldn't get it to work first time.
will have another bash at it later on, but thanks for your help.

I also think that having paid for it, and updating a Nokia PR update, it should not wipe my paid levels and scores.

Go to Ovi Store and sign in. You should be able to DL the packs again from there.
