Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
I do note that with Advanced Camera, the photos come out upside-down. Not sure if there's a way to fix that; I can't find a "rotation" option in advanced camera settings.

There are other issues with Advanced Camera that keep me from using it as my main camera application at the moment, like the ISO and flash mode selection not working. |
Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
Does anyone know how to get OKBoard running? It shows the error "screen size is too big" so I assume some configuration needs changed but I don't know what.

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
Today for the first time I've been trying to edit some files using nano, in both ToeTerm and the standard terminal app.
I've started to see some jumping cursor issues, similar to the issues in terminal which were corrected in ToeTerm (edit occurs at different position than cursor etc.). I saw the problem in ToeTerm so, switched to the usual Terminal app, but had the same problem. I've only seen the issue inside nano, I haven't yet managed to reproduce it on the command line. Guess I will have to look for another editor, or a different build of nano. |

For details and a workaround (by adjusting the font size in Terminal) see there. I observed that again lately in Terminal at the command line, too. |
Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
I played around with font sizes and while I couldn't make nano behave completely, the behaviour does seem to vary with the font setting. So I think you are on the right track here olf!

Hi. Was wondering if folks are using Xposed Framework and or Magisk on Android OS Fxtec Pro.
EDIT: Oops! Sorry. This thread is about Sailfish on Fxtec... |

I once filed this bug, described the behaviour, have my workarounds ... and the subsequent discussion even pointed at the code location involved. Feel free to pick up from here and reopen the ToeTerm issue or a new one for Fingerterm. |

I double checked and can confirm it fixed the issue on my end.

Confirmed, it does seem to be the fix here too :)

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
Hmmm, for me this did not help at all (on XA2).

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
Are there any suggestions on how to restore a backup taken on another Sailfish device?
While the microSD is found by running fdisk -l, it doesn't show up in "Storage" among the myriad of partitions, and nor does it show in the list of memory cards to restore from. It was possible to move the backup file into the Documents folder in the nemo directory, but is there a way to execute a recovery using that backup file, say, using the command line to target that backup? |
Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
Try "zypper ref" and "zypper dup".
The sdcard fix was introduced in the last few days. |

Is there somewhere where updates on this port are posted when they are released?

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
I think it's just "devel-su zypper ref" and "devel-su zypper up".

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
Is there a way to increase the size of the screen borders used for detecting edge swipes? On the Pro1 you need to start from past the curve of the screen, which can be awkward if you're only holding the phone with one hand.

Thanks! I've set it to about 70 at the moment and it's a lot more comfortable to use.
I'm curious what the original value was for the Pro1, since that key did not exist before I wrote to it. |

Other issues are: MMS doesn't work. APN settings have been checked and double checked, but doesn't work. Works on Xperia X SFOS with same settings. Email cannot be set up. The trick of restarting the device upon receiving the error message at email setup results in an email account that does not refresh or fetch any email. Settings have been checked and double checked to be correct, but doesn't work. Works on Xperia X SFOS with same settings. Voice calls using a headset are too loud and cannot be reduced further. Voicemail indicator does not show up after a voicemail has been left and only appears upon reboot. This worked correctly on Xperia X SFOS where after a voicemail was left the voicemail indicator would appear immediately. During a phone call without a headset the proximity sensor does not turn on the screen immediately upon taking the device away from the ear. This makes telephone menus difficult to navigate as they require a reply within a certain amount of time to press a certain number to navigate the menu. In the same line of thinking, the screen provides strange inputs when navigating a voice menu, resulting in the face pressing random buttons. The screen remains off, however it seems like tactile inputs are still being registered. So for now it seems SFOS on F(x) tec Pro 1 is not ready for prime time unless there are corrections to this that can be implemented. Does anyone know who are the developers of the port? Is this the best way to provide feedback or is there a different forum that is being used for development? |
Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
I've also seen similar issues with the phone and proximity sensor, namely that if it rings and I pull it out of my pocket, the screen usually doesn't turn on until I press the power button (which silences the call).

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
I updated my pro1 via zypper ref and zypper update. Now it doesn't start anymore. It is just booting to the bootscreen. Any chance to get it to work again, other than reflash?

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
Oh man, what a coincidence...
I did pkcon refresh & pkcon update and now am in the same misery :D Mine happened today at noon and i have not reflashed looking for some solution also. I can connect to ssh nemo@192.168.2.1 if i boot the Proš into recovery mode (Vol down+Power at boot). But non of my credentials work. I also tried "password". Any idea, @TheKit maybe? |

That will give you root for maintenance. Id appreciate the output of su - nemo groups In the meantime, i will restore the old packages, and you should be able to zypper dup to restore them! |
Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
Also, you can probably fix it by editing
/lib/systemd/system/vendor.mount and changing sde16 to sde18 and rebooting |

No, sadly telnet gets refused in recovery mode at 192.168.2.1 regardless the port.
When booted regular into that now failed state i can not successfully connect via USB. Code:
➜ ~ ifconfig |

Ive restored the old packages, so if you can get in, you should be able to zypper ref && zypper dup to restore them, once the build server has settled down... In the future, we will move users to the testing: repos so we can break devel without it breaking for you too :) |
Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
Do not fear Fellfrosch, i have a working Proš again thanks to TheKit fixing it via remote terminal session.
Thanks again. Hopefully you can find a way to connect into your device and follow Adams instructions, else its about asking TheKit the right questions since he figured out how to get my USB network up short/long enough to be able to do the fix. Man, that was a terminal blockbuster for humble noob me to watch. Infinity War was boring in comparison. |

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
While it's a dumb answer to your issues, make sure you have a working TWRP backup of SFOS. I used mine already three times (not due to any SFOS issue, just because I needed tests in stock Android), and knowing I can at all times restore the backup is a huge relief.

Thanks to all for that quick help!!! I had success with TheKit's einstructions. My device is up and running again. Also thanks to Kabouik for his advice to make a TWRP backup and for the instructions how to do it!

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
@mosen Is your SD-Card still recognized after that action? For me I have now the same situation as in the past. SD-Card isn´t shown, instead I see lots of drives...

Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
No, the fix has "deprecated" for me also during some of the last updates.
My guess is since we already discussed this on discord a week ago or so the devs are aware. |
Re: SFOS on F(x)tec Proš: progress, issues, tricks, free chat
is there a way to make the PIN unlock pad bigger? It's quite small relative to the screen, compared to the Xperia X or the original Jolla, and hard to unlock with a thumb.
