That's, unfortunately, true also for me.

I'll file a bug later if no one else has already done it...

Please do so at your earliest convenience. I have been using the NIT for a little over a year now, and look forward to using it for another 3+ years. :p

Thanks!

Has anyone else been knocked off msn? I tried to apt-get install libpurple---- etc and even though I have it locally it would not install....

nm, seems to have fixed itself...

If you currently have the regular osso-software-version-rx*4 package installed, try removing it, and then see if you can then upgrade libc6 and the system. I know this can be a bit dangerous, but if you want the system upgrade, and don't want to uninstall libc6-dev and lose your build environment, this may be the only choice. It worked for me.

I would not recommend removing osso-software-version-rx?? which as you said is dangerous, but rather installing osso-software-version-rx??-unlocked, which isn't really. Unless you're in some situation where that wouldn't work either (and I haven't seen one, though I'm sure it's possible), just play it safe.

Had same issue, already posted to this thread about it. Rerun: restore playlist from backup, reboot, and all is well again.

Your post was about Radio Stations, what has this to do with Playlists?
Something similar we can do for Playlists?

looks like they are simply files stored on the internal file system that should be automatically added by Media Player, instead they are not.

Update was smooth.

But I wonder why nobody mentions the great speed increase of microb browser?

Well done, Nokia. Very happy with this upgrade!

Are there people who still don't see this as an "update"? I have yet to get the notification (in North America). This happened to me last time, too. Argh. I really don't want to reflash.

No noticeable speed increase here.

Wierd Update Behavior

This is very strange.

I tried to upgrade to 5.2008.43-7 and got the error about bluez-utils which prevented installation. I had not installed minigpsd or bluez-utils-test, so I was confused. Through shell access, I installed bluez-utils, thinking that dependencies would be satisfied. It installed just fine.

Now, the update has disappeared from the Application Manager. So, I try to install it through the shell with "apt-get install osso-software-version-rx44" and it still refuses to install because bluez-utils is more recent than it wants. I have bluez-utils 3.28-0osso7 and it wants 3.28-0osso6.

HELP...how do I force an install?

Re: SSU 5.2008.43-7 is available

Interesting... I should have gotten a notice on this for the internal testing... and haven't yet.

Anyway, hopefully the memory leak that was fixed is the one I found, which seemed to be related to the flash plugin. It got VERY annoying.

For reasons unknown to me sdk repo seems to have 3.28-0osso7 while the catalogue.tableteer.nokia.com repo has 3.28-0osso6. Disable sdk repository (for good) and try updating. You possibly have to downgrade bluez-utils first

I have seen microb speed increases after the last two updates, BUT they vanish over time. Seems to me that SOMEthing is accumulating that slows the browser yet is eliminated with refreshes.

Either that or I'm just crazy. Or both.

cache or database buildup?

i recall startups being slow from history buildup, but one of the SSU's introduced a history cap to try and avoid that issue.

beyond that, no clue. altho i recall there being a buildup of page icons as well. but that should not impact rendering speed (in theory)...

Is there actually a cache? I can never easily go BACK without seeming to reload the page, I assumed there wasn't one.

I think it's just the excitement for the new release, it's too soon for the effect to vanish (updated yesterday).
I'm also rebooting the tablet quite frequently to change batteries so that may help avoiding the accumulated garbage effect (think browserd).
Anyway, loading this forum took forever the day before yesterday (i.e. before the update) and it takes forever now.
Opening a link in a new window and switching windows takes the same time than before the update if not more.
All of the browser bugs that annoy me are still there (windows topping themselves when they finish loading, no open in background window option, scrollbar that goes all the way down with just one click), so I cannot say I noticed an improvement, speed or otherwise.
At least the update was smooth (notwithstanding that it cleaned my radio stations, but since listening to internet radio drains battery like there's no tomorrow that may be a feature ;))

Didn't test yet camera with the latest update, but in my case if the first application using the webcam was camera image flipping didn't work (not even with the "internet calls" application), however if I let "internet calls" using the camera first (just pop out the camera once rebooted), flipping works.

If this is causing a problem for you, the best thing to do is force a downgrade to the maemo version:

Code:

sudo apt-get install libxcomposite1=1:0.3.1-2
I didn't actually use qwerty12's updated version of libxcomposite1 myself, and transparency worked fine.

I preferred the safe way. So, I uninstalled libc6-dev (and its dependencies), upgraded with the Application manager, then reinstalled the removed packages.

Perhaps I could have used apt-get (from the X Terminal) instead, as it could handle the libc6-dev upgrade at the same time as SSU, but it is not clear whether the Application manager does something specific for SSU.
