I once used over 7GB on an O2 simplicity montly contract. No that's not a typo. 7GB. I was moving houses and had to tether my mobile while my ISP took their sweet time installing the connection in the new place.

I didn't get charged anything extra. Although I did get warning texts from them by the end of the month. This was a 1 time thing but I normally end up going over the 250MB fair use policy per month anyway.

Is O2 Simplicity's fair usage limit set to 500mb? I've heard elsewhere it was 250mb. Then again, I can't seem to find an actual figure in the T&C on their site.

I'm kinda torn over which network to go with based on each of their internet data services. :confused:

Sorry. That WAS a typo :o . It is 250MB. Or was last I checked. It was 250MB when I started and this was mentioned in their T&C then. Which again is quite astounding as I go way over this every month.

Right guys, be gentle, a newbie here but i'm going to throw a big spanner into the works here in terms of how to get a sim free N900 direct from Nokia for the princely sum of: £310.61 (also works for anyother Nokia phones but as this a N900 thread)

You have until the 21st October for this to work.

first go to http://www.topcashback.co.uk/ and create an account, they're a bit like quidco but no fees, bascically they have agreements in place with merchants where a % of your purchase is passed on to you in the form of cashback, this is usually paid 2-3 months after your purchase has been verified and will go either into your bank account or paypal depending on what you've entered as your preferred payment option.

Ok, once logged in and signed up, click on search in the merchants and you will see Nokia, it show's 10% off, if you're signed in and click the visit merchant button you will then open a new window that will take you to the Nokia UK website, add the N900 (or whichever phone you wish to purchase in the cart and checkout).

Once you have checked out you will see that the sum being asked for is £499 inc free delivery.

Ok, scroll to the "Enter Promotion Discount" box and enter: AFFUK15

This will reduce £74.85 off the phone should now come up at a rate of £424.15

Again go to the "Enter Promotion Discount" box and enter: SOCUK15

This will reduce £63.62 off the phone should now come up at a rate of £360.53.

Please note that topcashback on the discount codes & deals tab of the nokia retail page says:
You can use both codes AFFUK15 and SOCUK15 at the same time.

I have just tried it now and it does work!

Ok so the phone is now down to £360.51 which is pretty damn good, well because you used Topcashback you will get 10% off the price, no not the final price with all the discounts but in fact the starting price which is £499 so you will get cash in your account or paypal for another £49.90 meaning your N900 will have cost you £310.61.

I believe the Soc Media discount code is going to expire on the 21st of October.

I have received confirmation of my order from Nokia by Email and Topcashback has also tracked my order.

Nice. I cancelled my preorder which was using the SOCUK15 code alone, and followed your instructions.

It's not showing in topcashback yet, and if it doesn't show up in a few days, it'll be too late to place the order again with those promo codes.

But even if topcashback doesn't work out, the saving from the two promo codes is better than one :-D Thanks Hass.

Although http://www.topcashback.co.uk/Nokia/discountcodes says you can use both AFFUK15 and SOCUK15 at the same time, I wonder if that's really true, or whether Nokia might cancel the orders. It seems too good to be true.

Nokia's website is designed to allow more than one discount code to be entered against a purchase, so they obviously intend multiple discount codes to be supported.

Guys the tracking worked 12hrs later, I logged into my topcashback page this morning and clear as daylight it is tracking at £49.90.

I went ahead and ordered too cancelling my mobilephonesdirect order. Now I can keep my staff sim-only package. Only downside being a much harsher 1gb cap but something easily outweighed by not being in contract and not having to mess around porting in. Thanks a lot Haas!

Just put in my order, thanks guys for sharing this on the forum. Usually just read post on the forums here but this saving warranted a sign up and post

My order came out at £370.52 with express delivery :-)
Not appeared in the top cash back part as of yet think that could take a few days. Really hope Nokia deliver this one as the sale should stand but you never no with this online retailers they could withdraw it :-)

I think Nokia have a very, very broken shopping cart and will probably not honour this wanton exploitation. There's no harm in trying, though.

yeah i can't see that one going through. It's almost how low can you go. A friend needs an old E71 and is going to try the promo codes tonight. They will know within the next few days if it goes through or not. Fingers crossed.

The UK store is giving me errors at the moment when trying to use checkout. Administrators are away it says.

Is tomorrow the last day for this order or will I still be able to use the vouchers on the 21st? Im waiting for a refund from MPD and they are claiming up to 5 days for my account to show, so its a race against time for me :mad:

I'm tempted to try cancelling my order and re-ordering with all three discounts. I'm trying it on with two and a cash back, so I'm not convinced it's any less likely to be accepted.

On the other hand, they might let a double-discount slide, and pick up on a triple one. Oh the decisions!

I would suggest that if you're going to use the accessory voucher which I listed in the last page then at least purchase an accessory, that way you cannot fall foul of Nokia. And besides, with such a power hungry phone and the discount you're getting, surely you guys all need another battery? ;-)

Edgedemon, no money was taken from my account by Nokia, my email confirmation states that they only take payment once the item is ready for shipping. I read the social media discount expires on the 21st, so I assume that means the 21st is the last day to use it. I think.

Uh-oh, I didn't read this through properly, what with all this excitement!!!!! I really hope they don't reject my order based on that - I'll gladly buy a battery! :(

argh, Im not sure what to do! Im pretty sure Nokia wont sell the phone for £256 - but what to go for - the x2 code and topcashback - that seems a pretty safe bet doesnt it??

This really seems too good to be true. The invoice doesn't mention anything about accessories with the mynokia15 code, and I would think they would not let you check out if it was not permitted.

I have applied the three codes on the nokia shop and pre ordered my N900, with the price of £306.45. I didn't use topcashback as I am too lazy.
I then emailed Nokia customer care regarding the codes and their validity. I recieved the following response.

I hope everything is well. With regards to your email about the discount code and the expiration of this. We have checked this and rest assured that even though the Nokia N900 will be shipped after the said expiration date, the discount will still apply. To drag this back onto topic, you can also get discounts on your phone tarrif.
_only_ if you don't screw up - and they make it easy to screw up.

http://www.onecompare.com/ - compare a mobile phone - say you want a cheap one - I picked a nokia 1280 IIRC.

They then mail you (or maybe credit your account) the cashback over time.

For example, you can get 700 minutes, and lots of texts/month, and 1G/month, for about 35 quid a month direct debit - but with 100% cashback.

So - you can connect your new shiny n900 for free.

Why they do this, I don't know. But they do.

If the release date is indeed end of October why are the networks being silent? Tmobile have repeatedly told me they have no idea when or if it will be released (and mentioned by that prerogative it wont be out for 3/4weeks on Tmob).

Any insiders know anything from Voda/Tmob??
