Right now, I think their focus is on releasing the device. Sleeves will come later. ;)

True Kathy! ;) But the N810 sleeves came in the retail box - they should have done the same with the N900.

I found this one http://handjack.de/index_gallery.html , which is exactly what I want, but it's too small for the N900 :-(. Does anyone know a shop with similar pouches?

Re: how are you going to protect your N900?

I just ordered this rubberized skin to hold me over till a good one like the one I have from bodyglove for my G1 comes out. It was only 4 bucks shipped so if its terrible no big deal.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Black-Rubberized...item27acc4226e

And ordered this leather case which I think will work even with my skin on. It has a Magnetic closure but I guess that is OK since the N900 has no compass. 8 bucks delivered.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ss_T15_product

I was going to wait to buy the N900 till after the phone was out awhile so there would be more choices for cases, skins etc but $480.00 delivered from dell was too low to pass up.

So I'm starting this thread to see where people spot the various boxwave / invisibleshield / ... screen protectors.

Also, considering this is costing a lot, a good case would be an interesting thing to find / add to your pocket mix (One that doesn't hamper phone use this time around).

Yeah you would think being Nokia's flagship device they would include a pouch.

I'm really not too convinced by the CP-321. It looks quite tight and I'm not sure how convenient it would be getting the device in and out of it when a call comes in. Maybe useful when just carrying it around, but doesn't look that great for day to day use.

Re: how are you going to protect your N900?

I'm going to strap my n900 to my wrist to be a permanent cyborg :-)

seriously, a simple/thin leather sleeve and probably a decent ultra-clear type screen protector.

I still use my n800 in the cloth sock provided, with a bit of velcro stuck to the back of the n800 so that it doesn't slide out too easily, and only recently replaced the factory-fitted screen "protector" with a reasonable quality replacement (it was looking pretty cloudy!)

DuraSec HighTec, Vikuiti DQC-160 or Vikuiti ARMR200?

I can't say anything about Durasec. But at Vikuiti in my opinion the DQC-160 is for the N900 better than the ARMR200, because the ARMR200 has a Anti-reflective coating. It reducec the light a little bit and I read a test, because of this coating the screen is a little bit blurry (matt). This dosn't matter at a screen with a low resolution, but at the N900 I'll prefer the DQC-160 because of that. :)

Re: N900 Screen protector/skin

Guys, don't know if you would be intersted but I have recieved the following from Zagg (invisible sheilds - google if you have not seen them before):

"David Dickson,

Recently, you submitted your name to send us your Nokia N900 for us to design an invisibleSHIELD for it. We have now received enough requests for this device that we would like to design an invisibleSHIELD for it.
"

So I guess they will be making it after it is released, problem is you may have to wait for the skin as it probably won't be around for a few weeks after the release.

If you haven't seen these before, I can recommend them very highly as I have one for my N95. They are very good for protection/anti glare and has saved my N95 from quite a few stratches!! The installation is relatively simple and easy and has very low impact on the device as the skin is very very thin, also it helps with the grip on the device as well, which might be useful for the one handed landscape mode! :) They also offer just the screen cover (rather than the whole body) on many of the devices on the website so I guess they will for N900 too, but I would go for the whole thing!

The only point I would add is that the N95 is not touch screen so I can't comment on if this affects the touch screen aspect in anyway but I guess not as there are other sheilds for touch screen devices on the website.

Hope that helps/adds another option.....

It'll be interesting how they design around the proximity sensor.

Are these not worth getting unless you're not spending £8/10 plus? I had a cheap one on my old school ipod for a good few years with no problems but suppose it may be a different kettle of fish with a touch screen device.

I am thinking of waiting for a Noreve case when it comes out. Does anyone have experience with them. Here is a review about the n97 case and I assume the n900 case will be similar.

Yes, the M3 Vikuiti (name of the protection film/foil) based products are excellent. There are two main versions though, a glossy, mirrored one and a matte one. The matte one is less prone to scratches, has some fancy surface which "melts" back together upon a scratch happening. You have to research that yourself though to find out, which one suits you best.

They are brilliant. Use them on all my DSLR and compact cameras as well as on the Blackberrys we have. They are very easy to apply, very strong protection and do not affect the touch screen on the Storm in a negative way. I have mine already awaiting my N900 :)

I'm going to get a three pack of these in black:
3 X Rubberized Hard Cases Cover Skin For NOKIA N900
They are pretty cheap, and you get free shipping!

I don't think I want to put a bulky leather case on my N900. I have a nice Noreve one for my Cowon S9 PMP and I just got a bit over it recently (the case that is; the S9 is excellent - best PMP I've come across).

The problem with this cheap cases is that you're limited to using touch screen only.... just like the iphone. You should be able to pull out the phone easily and text quickly.

From looking at the pictures, I think that there are separate front and back pieces. It does say rubberised hard case. I don't think it's a skin (despite the title). I wouldn't want a skin; not much point in having a mobile computer with no keyboard (for me)!

Just bought this leather case from eBay. Looks pretty solid, only £3.15 and from UK seller.

I am really liking those screen protectors and hard rubber cases mentioned on this thread too. Watching a few on eBay - Will probably end up with one of each... :D

Haha yeah, but those didn't exist in April. Plus I don't think I'll be able to get 50hours play time out of my N900 :p

I checked with the seller of the rubberised hard case, he/she states the you will be able to use the keyboard as normal.

Yeah, it would be nice if it didn't cover the logo. Maybe the cut-out for the the logo would have made the case too thin at that point. You could put it on up side down! :D but it might cover half of it still. I'm sure others will come out that leave the logo visible.

If anyone is getting a Noreve case I would caution against the suede "vintage" texture. It is beautiful at first but gets dirty very easily, and you need to roughen up the suede pretty often. I got this texture on my Noreve S9 case, but now I wish I had gone with the regular leather.

I've emailed Fommy.com asking if they'll have a silicone jelly case for the N900. The one they have for the N97 (similar sliding keyboard) looks quite fetching.

Costed me 18 euro's including shipping to the Netherlands.

Debating that or the HighTec - don't know what to do!

Also scared that I'll cock it up when fitting - did with my last phone, came out terrible!

Re: N900 Case / Pouch / Screen protector

I have just ordered the DuraSec HighTec protector. I allways get my devices with screen protector, and DuraSec is the brand I prefer to use (together with Brando, but DuraSec gives a brighter image while Brando is more durable). Also, the DuraSec will be cut to fit the whole N900's surface, not just the screen area like other cheap screen protectors do. And they are durable as hell. My oldest device with one is my HTC Universal (which is about 3/4 years old) and the DuraSec is still doing its job!

I just bought two items:

1) DuraSec ClearTec ($9.98 total after coupon)

Now I just have to get the phone itself :P

Anyone have any experience with the invisibleShield on touchscreen devices? I'm trying to find some reviews but they mostly just talk about its ability to protect from scratches but doesn't really cover whether it hinders the touch screen usage.
