I like the accessory pack idea as well... Keep your N900, enjoy it and hats off to you.

Standard SD is limited to 4GB. Anything bigger is SDHC. It is hard to find 4GB standard SD cards.

Yeah but apparently people got 'butt hurt' and petitioned to have it locked because it was 'off topic'. That thread was keeping us all sane, and quite a bit of info on the N900 was posted there, it wasn't just us joking around all the time.

Just got a call from BofA asking if I authorized a charge of $586.98 from Amazon.com ( that's my N900 total ) immediately after which I logged into Amazon, and the status is still the same as before.

Amazon doesn't charge till they ship, which means hopefully tomorrow morning I'll have a nice email saying "N900 Shipped"

Re: Did your N900 ship today continued

OR, you can be be the one to send your n900 to invisishield.

so they can get the measurements right.

kudos for being a man of your word

Is it weird the most exciting moment of my life will be the day I'm $586.98 poorer?

No it's not weird...I would have paid allot more for this device if Amazon and Nokia had the price higher.

Me too, seriously stoked about it! I just added a DynDNS spot for it's IP address on my account there! I'm thinking it would be sharp to be able to fire up Apache and FTP for support file downloads direct from my Phone.

But anyhow, I have a need for being somewhere, perhaps in an airport or at lunch and getting a phone call asking for something i may have on my phone. I just start Apache, give the person requesting the DynDNS URL and have them click on the Download. When they're done, stop Apache. Same for FTP. Having a server in your pocket? Priceless!

Not sure what you are asking here.

ProFTPd is in a few spots here **Search**

The Apache Deb package is available also with a **Search**

DYNDNS.org, how do you live your life without this? Every customer of mine behind DSL or cable modems with Dynamic IPs get one of these spots in my account.

I assumed you knew Linux, was that a mistake on my part? Not trying to be snarky, just making sure we're on the same page.

Yes new to linux, so I'm trying to learn everything I possibly can. So if Apache allows someone to download a file from your phone than what does FTP do or do you need both Apache and FTP in order to turn your phone into a mobile server?

@ freshproduce:

Ordered it on Sept 19th through my business account.

Does it seem like they're shipping out soon (from Amazon?). I'm trying to decide if I want to place it now, or risk waiting a few days for my damn bank's reward program to finally get me that $50 Amazon certificate.

Annoying bank.. I requested it from their web interface on the 13th and they just sent it out yesterday via postal mail. -_-

Though I suppose I could always pre-order it now and if they don't ship out by the time i get it. Cancel my order and re-order with the certificate being used..

Stupid clubmac.com, told me they were gonna recieve their n900 today and that they were gonna ship it to me today also, I called back at 7pm and they said now they are expecting to get it in on the 25, I'm like wtf, the 25 is sunday, stop trying to fool me. So i cancelled with them and went back to amazon, crossing my fingers that Amazon will ship it next week.

FWIW it looks like my credit card has been held/charged also. It doesn't say so explicitly but my available credit went down by a few hundred dollars. Capital One online site sucks.

Ordered from Amazon 9/16.

Edit: Amazon order page shows no change.

Havent gotten any charge from amazon, but I did just now see n900 on newegg for 559.99 with free 3 days shipping and newegg has a release date of 11/14/09.

Apache is a web page server. So you could crank up Apache on your phone and serve Spinnukur's bestiality page direct from your phone while you're trying to break the ice on that first date with whatever species you like to hang with. They can click on a AVI file showing various animal movies. I'm thinkin' you might have some use for that!

Apache also can be used to DL files over HTTP. FTP is just another way to DL or UL files quick and dirty. These can be services that can be easily stopped and started on the fly. With a desktop widget I'm thinking for the start/stop script.

DYNDNS so that you just hand out N900.dyndns.org instead of having to figure out your IP address all the time. DYNDNS has a lot of domains to pick from. Like N900.devalias.org and a host of others. I'd get in now before all the N900s are taken!

Laughing Man 2009-10-21 04:15

Re: Did your N900 ship today continued

Edit: Just ordered. Figured if the certificate arrives before then I'll cancel and re-order. If not then I'll talk to my dad about trading the Amazon certificate for cash.

" October 26, 2009 - October 29, 2009" (doubt it though).

Re: Did your N900 ship today continued

I think I will wait till next week to see from amazon, if not I will order from newegg. 559 no tax and free shiping is tempting, and newegg is way better than buy.com, at least i can exchange a doa unit from newegg easily

Newegg is pretty straight up. I kinda believe what they tell me. That's good news.

Re: Did your N900 ship today continued

Hmm, is it even possible to get the $50 squaretrade warranty deal with newegg? Or is it just a combo thing with Amazon?

Cause the only other way it seems is to do it through their website and then you pay $76.80 which -$50 is = 26.80

And considering Newegg only saves you $23 compared to Amazon.. (I'll have to add Newegg to my list of n900 prices and where to buy). You would pay more if you want the Squaretrade warranty with the n900.

Re: Did your N900 ship today continued

i called yesterday, and was told that the shiping was delayed from the middle of october to "before the end of october" directly from Nokia.

:/

i hate delays. especially with the pre-order done on 9/10/09.

it will be the same with my booklet 3g on thursday at best buy. it will not arrive until 11/15/09.

Romeo0119 2009-10-21 04:23

Re: Did your N900 ship today continued

Is it possible that newegg get their stocks after amazon and buy.com? They're big online retailer but not as big as amazon but at the same time they got a release date and amazon doesnt. I dont know what to think

Laughing Man 2009-10-21 04:27

Re: Did your N900 ship today continued

I wouldn't say they get it before or after. Rather their size probably dictates how many n900s they get.

E.g. Amazon being the biggest, gets the most. Then whoever is next biggest, etc..etc..
