There's two flagship stores, feeling more dense yet. I was pointing out though that if Nokia and NokiaRetail aren't linked then why are they listing the stores together? You say the call centre staff are lying? but anyone you speaks to tell the truth? stay consistant

and using your Coca-Cola analogy is that store calling itself coca-cola? no. its advertising there is a difference. there is only one Brit on this thread making us look bad.

The analogy he is trying to make was that just because something brands itself in the correct colour scheme and uses the right fonts, it doesnt mean its the real deal.

He may be wrong on the fact that there is one more flagship store, at Heathrow, however I think its a fair enough assumption that lots of Nokia staff may not have heard of one of their affiliates in UK, Nokia Retail.

According to http://www.nokiaretail.co.uk/stores/index.htm it shuts at 9pm on a Friday. Perhaps I should have called the Heathrow one while I waited for my food to arrive at the office :p

Anway, fingers crossed I get it before Wednesday as I have a conference in Bristol on Thursday and Friday and it would come in useful for note-taking (via Xournal probably).

Can I just say a huge thanks to the mods for letting us keep this thread. It must be tempting to merge all the delivery threads into one. (One thead to rule them all..)

But this UK-centric thread is the only place I can bear to check. What with the cross-posting, people citing 'Nokia' 'Expansys' or 'Amazon' without specifying where they're from, and the slight... err... over-enthusiasm of a few people, I'm finding the other threads challenging. This one is more manageable.

I do wonder though - we've received a fair amount of information/dis-information along the road here: how much was from Nokia.co.uk and how much from NokiaRetail?

As far as dispatch: I don't think anyone in the UK has had a dispatch email yet (matching what Hannah said to me yesterday - next week, starting Monday, in reservation order). People in Italy and France have been notified, so we're a weekend behind them. But with luck the first fortunate few will have their n900s next week. can I put in a plea that they don't gloat?

The fact MPD sell other branded phones aswell Sony Ericsson, LG ect speaks for itself really. It is just a franchise but hopefully as the N900 front page says it may have first exclusivity rights with Nokia for retail.
Yes I have ordered from MPD and am expecting it 1-2 after the 3rd per the E-mail.

enough of this already. I keep seeing that there have been new posts to this thread but every time I come here there's just another pointless post about the difference between Nokia UK and Nokia retail. This is a good thread for those of us in the UK who don't care about when it's going to be delivered in the US/Germany/Denmark etc, but it will be spoiled if this argument carries on...

I haven't got a dispatch email yet. At least my UPS has arrived (not by UPS).

I'm too impatient for fantasy league, I've stuck with the team I initially picked, so Adebayor got me points. I prefer the ones for short tournaments like the World Cup, it's only 1 month and tightly focused.

Yikes, I was beginning to think I was the only person who used Mandriva.

Seriously considering switching to Debian so that I can get the Maemo 5 SDK on my main machine, but I know all the little things that go wrong on Mandriva so having to learn a slightly different OS layout and different set of glitches would be annoying.

The like the fact Mandriva are bleeding edge, get the new features sooner as for me that is the beauty of Linux - you never know what new things you may be able to do in the next major release of a distro.

In other news, I am really hoping MPD were being pessimistic and they get stock next week. When they said delayed to mid-November I never expected them to miss my birthday (27th) entirely and end up in December. They are still claiming late November on Nokia Retail, I never knew Dec 3rd was late November, idiots!

Expansys website keeps varying between 2nd and 3rd December. (I've one on back-order to be sent to Australia).

Any suggestions as to where and how to get one sooner would be very much appreciated.

Just an FYI that when I log in to check my Amazon UK pre-order, it shows an estimated delivery date of 1st December - so you may wish to update the list with that date.

That may be a problem for me. I have a BIG notice on my door telling all delivery people where to take items when I'm out. Last time UPS brought something they couldn't be arsed so left it somewhere else... where I couldn't collect it for days. If they do that with my n900 I shall give them hell.

Sadly Nokia warehouses, unlike big places like Amazon, don't work on weekends. No-one will hear anything till tomorrow at the earliest. Then I hope a few of the earliest orders will be shipped, and emails received.

It was available to order during October for a short period and then they removed it from the site. All orders received an email stating early Dec deilvery (mine was 3-4th Dec).
