Got mine today. I am shocked it actually arrived. :)

Be careful, it expires in July! At least mine does.

Got mine, too. Also pleasantly surprised as I have mostly given up the hope of it arriving. For those still waiting, be patient and good luck! In my case, the online status check is pretty much useless.

FYI, mine was sent in early Jan.

I read this thread, got optimistic and checked the mail. I'ts HERE!!!

Don't give up hope.

I'd gotten at least three emails from Nokia saying they were processing the application, and the website for checking status NEVER found my data.

Yet here it is....

Re: Nokia Visa $50 rebate/prepaid card

Mine just arrived yesterday.

I did receive two Nokia Promotion Status emails stating that my offer is being processed. The same thing that happened to RWFarley is what I experienced. In the e-mail, they provided the following text information listed here:

**********
Your submission for the Nokia offer is currently being processed.

You will be unable to reply to this email because it has been automatically generated, please direct any inquiries to the Nokia Customer Care Center at 1-800-436-6394

For details on Nokia’s privacy policy click here: http://www.nokiausa.com/A4411013

To check order status in the future, go to www.web-rebates.com.

Maintain hope - 8 to 10 weeks is long time. Hope this helps.

Bah, just looked mine up and it says they can't find any record of it. =(

Guess I'll have to call tomorrow and raise hell.

Nokia said they never receive my submission. I did mail it since the end of December 2009.
This is very bad.

I sent the rebate form in December, heard nothing for 2 months. Then I called them, re-sent the form again and still haven't received the rebate. Doesn't show up on their site either. I will never buy another Nokia product, ever.

I had to resend the form once and was told that was good enough. Sure enough received nothing after a few weeks and was told I needed to fax everything again. I did this a few weeks ago and was told to call if I receive nothing by the end of April. It's getting close and I have nothing still. This will be the 5th call to this rebate company and I can guarantee it will not be pretty.

Sent my form in, in December. Got one email notification in feb I think and then finally received the prepaid card at the end of March. Had no problems at all from Nokia...

Re: Nokia Visa $50 rebate/prepaid card

I wasn't even told of the rebate. I had pre-ordered it, and was one of the ones they canceled the pre-order on, and didn't tell me until I called in after reading about the mess they'd made here. :) Because of that my "pre-order" fell late enough that I just made the window for the rebate, but again I got no notification about the rebate, I read about it here.

That said, I did do the rebate thing, sent it in, got my card, and have already spent it, so... No issues here.

Same. The California Better Business Bureau is going to be getting a call from me.

I submitted in Dec., they sent me a small card and I resubmitted it in Feb. Still didn't receive the $50 card, also can't find my rebate online.

I sent mine in, it got kicked back. Called, resent forms, still nothing. Its a scam.

Dunno, gents. I got my $50 back after "resubmitting in jan/feb", so the n900 ended up costing $410 from that early dell deal. Suhweet.

Re: Nokia Visa $50 rebate/prepaid card

I have $1.43 remaining on my card and trying to find a place to use it where I don't feel guilty about incurring a processing fee for the retailer. Maybe Wal-Mart :)

Got mine around mid/end March. Didn't have to re-submit, went through the first time. Also on a Dell deal.

Going try to call again tomorrow. If this doesn't get resolved I'm sending a letter to the BBB.

Re: Nokia Visa $50 rebate/prepaid card

I sent in the rebate at the very beginning of January. I'm sure I filled out the form carefully and correctly. I still have a copy of the information. I had done numerous rebates in my life and never had any problem before this.

It claims to require at least 8-10 weeks to have the status shown in the system. So, that would be after March,2010. Now, it's May, which is only two months away. I just talked to a CSR. She said she couldn't find my record, and it's not allowed for resubmission because the offer has already "expired". She said there's nothing I can do. That's ridiculous since this rebate was from Nokia directly.

I was shocked. I've been a loyal Nokia fan in the past several years. I liked my 6230, N82, N95 8gb, 5800, and then got the N900. I trusted Nokia more than any of other phone company. Now, I'm feeling being betrayed. I'll never buy Nokia or defend Nokia in front of my friends anymore. GOODBYE Nokia!

The CSR was wrong. I guess there's still something I can do. The first thing is to tell BBB.

Re: Nokia Visa $50 rebate/prepaid card

Yeah, I had the same problem with most of you. I think the people who are having problems are the people who bought their N900 from amazon.com. The people who bought it from dell seemed they got their rebate. Plus that's another thing. On amazon it was a $50 credit on a debit card not a rebate exactly. Although, you could think of it as a rebate since you will get $50 on a debit card and use it to buy other things. I also did everything they asked me to. I sent it before the January 2010 deadline. But the only glitch on my part was when I sent the application the first time I think I may have given an incorrect username. So then I called the nokia promotions people telling them that I have made a mistake on submitting my username on the original form I had sent. So, no problem, they sent me an additional corrective form for me to submit my correct username. Then I waited and waited till April 2010. I called and then the nokia promotions people said we never got it. Yeah right. I remembered that I was very careful writing the correct address and they said they never got it. Then the rep said okay send us a letter with the username only. More than just the username I gave my name, the serial no, when I purchased it just to make sure they will accept it. So this would be the 3rd time I sent nokia promotions to get my $50 credit debit card. To this day I never received it. There should be a class action against Nokia on this. You know, when I think of it, it is only $50. Plus, the phone does have free access to ovimaps. But it is the principle how Nokia deceived us what really irks me. Plus, a deal is a deal. They broken that deal.

I am also planning to send it to BBB. Looks like Nokia has a lot of address in BBB? Which one should we send the complain to?

Re: Nokia Visa $50 rebate/prepaid card

I bought through Dell, and I took my complaint to the BBB also. It's not Nokia that handles the rebates, its Young America out of Minnesota. They are not members of the BBB, but actually responded to my complaint in a timely manner. I will reserve judgement until the rebate is in my hands, but they are supposed to be sending my rebate in several weeks. Also, regarding debit cards, I'm sure it's just another way for them to make money, as not everyone spends the full amount on the card.

So you sent the BBB to "Young America out of Minnesota"?

jflatt 2010-06-15 19:19

Re: Nokia Visa $50 rebate/prepaid card

I did "Young America", after a couple of screens, it asked for which one, and there was one for their HQ in MN. This is just from memory though.

Re: Nokia Visa $50 rebate/prepaid card

Extremely deceiving practices from the rebate co.
I've sent them a fax the third time and still nothing. Just filed a BBB complaint with YA. I hope they'll do something following this action since I'd rather not submit a complaint with Nokia too.

truelies1 2010-06-16 13:02

Re: Nokia Visa $50 rebate/prepaid card

I can't find Young America, I search the rebate phone number, it's:

Nokia
PO Box 751023
El Paso, TX 88575

www3388 2010-06-18 17:42

Re: Nokia Visa $50 rebate/prepaid card

Just Google "PO Box 751023, El Paso, TX 88575" (the thing in the quotes). Then I found BBB Review of Nokia in El Paso, TX.

So, I didn't find any connection to Young America. I guess I don't want to waste time on Young America. However, please let us know if you actually resolve the issue with Young America.

It's to encourage you to spend the rebate instead of saving it. Here's what you do if you want to save it.

a) trade it for $50 to someone
b) Wait until you buy something you would normally buy (gas, groceries, etc..) and use it then

Re: Nokia Visa $50 rebate/prepaid card

I just got off the phone with Nokia rebates, and it turns out that they sent my rebate card to the wrong address and it got returned. I sent the rebate form in January, got an email in March and never got the card. When I called today, they fixed the address and told me it'd be about 3 weeks until it arrives.

I'd call them and make sure it got sent to the right address if you haven't received it yet.

Got my card in the mail today. Damn card expires in October of this year. I'm sure I'll find something to spend it on.
