im having a problem getting this soft working. ive added a remote called BLAHBLAH into qtirreco (ADD from manufacturer, place buttons etc) and it has appeared in lircd.conf
ive done a irsend SEND_START BLAHBLAH 1 and looked at my phone with a digitalcamera and i can see the led flashing..

but i cannot get qtirreco to flash the led when i press the buttons?

i forgot to paste the contents of the term window. note ive done a sudo gainroot before this

Are you running qtirreco from terminal ? That might be an issue.

in theory great app but ive got 4 well known brand tvs in my house, sony philips etc...

each is only a few years old, so not brand new not mega old. but i cannot find the remote No. for any of them lol

u might not find exact model remote but other model remote should work with your TV,

example my toshiba TV remote is not listed bit i used one which had similar model number which works

If you have the IR codes (either find them online if they exist) or grab them from a remote (use an IR recorder) then you can.

The application is not working anymore. Something is wrong with the latest version. Used to work but now no longer work. Can't control my TV anymore.

I seem to experience the "no IR flashing" problem whether QtIrrecco is started from icon or terminal, gainrooted or not..

Any chance we could implement a shortcut to changing remote as buttons? For example using the volume keys to switch remotes. I can't find a button to switch to the next remote with qtirreco but irreco has it. :O

For now im running testing for memory leaks, maybe later when that's done i can make new features as well. Also there is bug tracker and package has been promoted to testing.

So you can post bugs there for lirc or qtirreco. Off your post for users that can't get app working im speechless, no idea how come it's not sending that IR signal :(

I'm struggling to find a SKY HD+ remote?

Does anyone know where I can find it or make it?
These are the codes I found under the remote cover.
The problem is I'm not sure who makes the remote.

While testing different divice codes in the LircDB i found the one for my tv was the third one I downloaded. However when trying to make another remote for another tv, i found only the first 3 divices in the command setup screen. I have tried to reinstall the new one but to no avail, it there a way to manage what devises are avalible?

So I have a yamaha v1900. I would like to hold down the button so that I can properly change the volume up or down. If I hold it down it only changes the volume by very little at a time. I there any way to do this?

Just installed qtirreco-0.2.2-2, and it segfaults all over. For example, create a new remote, and try to edit it: segfault! Am I doing something wrong?

I'm getting crashes no matter whether I'm user or root, and running from terminal or not.

I installed Qtirreco and also could manage to donwload and configure the remote control information file from lirc. But it simply does not want to work. I cannot see a ir light flashing with the help of the camera of another mobile phone. So obviously it is not sending any signals. How can this be? Installing was no problem, also lirc runs manually via Xterminal.

Yes holding down button is a little bit tricky, now it's done in QDrag event and that event doesn't yet support underMouse() function properly so IR is sent randomly. Most probably going to change that whole thing later to be ran in thread and see if it gets normal.

If you mean the dialog with "Select Command" title the Remotes listbox is pannable and you can find lirc codes downloaded in that list.

Just removed and reinstalled to see if the new package is a failure but i saw that light with my digicamera when pressed button. That's very weird that with many people it just doesn't send the signal. Sorry but i have no clue for now to help you with that :(

Wow it worked great now. I think you have fixed the bug in this one. All you need now is to Optified the package :D

FYI, the signal is much stronger now than before. It stand 5Metres away from the TV and yes it still work. Great job bud. You deserve a Thank.

yes that is what i am talking about... but i am limited to 3 selections + one special section. i can not override or delete any of these in the pannable list. even though in the download from lirc it said that the one i now need is installed, i can not see it

Yah. Another way to make it crash: download a remote (I tried with the one from Nikon), and save it with the default layout. Segfault.

Please help. I just installed this but can't get this to work. I have downloaded two remotes from the download from data base option (LG TV and Western Digital Media Player) but all I get when I select a remote is a dark grey background with QtIrreco written at the bottom but with no buttons. What am I missing?

I will try to get all those bugs fixed tomorrow. I'm almost done with them. Remotes in database are mostly unusable because of a small bug and I will have to clear whole database tomorrow too.

I installed this for the first time today, and after hitting my head against the wall for 2 hours to get it working, I finally figured it out:
The file in MyDocs/qtirreco/Devices needs to have the same name as the name line inside it. My file was named RM-ED011 and the remote config had the name Sony_RM-ED011, as soon as I changed the file name to Sony_RM-ED011 everything worked (nearly) perfectly.

That particular remote, Sony's RM-ED011, also wasn't in the listing of all Sony remotes although it is at http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/sony/ , any idea why?

Now I have a special problem.. I`ve a DELL 32" TV @ home but in the database there isn`t a datapackage for DELL .. know somebody which package I should take for DELL ?! :rolleyes:

I set the remote name the same as the file name, but qtirreco still crashed for me.

After installing 0.2.2 from testing repo I always get
Socket connection with lirc failed! Please try reopening software.

I tryed reopening many times but nothing changed also rebootet and starting from root shell doesn't work.

Some idea what can cause this, I even tryed apt-get remove qtirreco lirc and removed all config files and reinstalled.
