Re: Is anyone using a N900 in India?
Im using vodafone in delhi...
the gprs works fine but not with the default settings.. i had to tweak them to get working the tweak i did was.: Settings>Internet Connections>Connections>Vodafone Live!>Edit>Next>Next>Advanced>Proxies> here i had to change "Port Number for HTTPS, for FTP and RSTP" to 0 instead of default 9401. After this change the websites open all fine. But now the problem is...any of my IMs never(yes, never) get online when im on vodafone live gprs, while they seem to connect in a second when on wifi....same with gps locking (it locks, but after infinity..thts when ive already passed that point on road where i wanted help..)... how to rectify this? anyone else in delhi with vodafone experiencing the same.? thanks in advance somekeystrokes |
Re: Is anyone using a N900 in India?
is there any way to get the call summary ? yaar india me to tension ho jayegi agar call summary nah aayi to.
|
Re: Is anyone using a N900 in India?
@ Cool_Hunk : There is another application Extended Call Log Summary which you can find.
@somekeyStrokes: I am using Vodafone Mobile Connect downloaded the settings directly from server and all works well. I used vodafone live also earlier just had to enable proxy for that and it worked but only thing is with live IM and Emails dont work. So now i am using Vodafone Mobile Connect and using IM's , Emails quite easily. |

Re: Is anyone using a N900 in India?
Vodafone GPRS worked for on N900?
I tried using GPRS in my N900 and had setup the connection point. When I connected to 'Vodafone Live', IP is being assigned to the device, but not able to access the internet. I tried enabling proxy (some proxy details are automatically made available in the advance tab of the gprs connection). Once I enable the proxy I m able to surf the net. But the problem is applications like Pidgin, Witter, Email are not working (may be they are not taking the proxy settings)... Is Vodafone live connection worked out of box for you or have u done any tricks... Please help! ManiKanta |

Re: Is anyone using a N900 in India?
to those N900 owners in India using "vodafone mobile connect" can you post your connection details. as i can not get it to work.
I can get "vodafone live!" to work fine. i want to use email on the N900 whilst in India (without using the browser) also another 2 questions to N900 users in india on Vodafone: 1) does your GPS location work OK and correctly? I am in trivandrum, but my GPS location on the N900 is a village in Bihar! 2) does your skype connection work? many thanks in advance |

the automatic notification that comes from the operator doesnot work on n900 bcos ussd dialling is not yet working..the balance msg you get when u end a call is a response to a automatic ussd which is send to the operator when you end a call..since n900 currently does not catch the ussd responses so forget that till the next release atleast..hope u getting what am trying to say in the meanwhile to check your balance, free sms n free mins u can use the ussd widget..its pretty easy to use n has been very helpful for me.. |
Re: Is anyone using a N900 in India?
I am using the ussd widget from a month, n still I am waiting for the ussd support in PR1.2. I will defnately notify u if I get some new on that support.
Right now I am using my airtel sim in US. it shows 2.5 below the network tower notification icon. |
Re: Is anyone using a N900 in India?
to aman18narang
i already have tried the vodafone mobile connect settings (http://www.vodafone.in/existingusers...leconnect.aspx) but i still do not get any gprs on my N900 only gprs via vodafone live connect works (as on http://www.vodafone.in/existingusers..._settings.aspx but with proxy servers enabled) so please post me your vodafone mobile connect settings if it is different to want vodafone sends via SMS or have made changes to it to get it to work. is anyone getting similar problems or were getting it but you have fixed? please post me your solutions! |

Hi, first u confirm from vodafone whether vmc is working. Then u can modify previous packet data connection( vodafone live) Put Access point name as WWW think thats about it no proxies or specific ip is needed so remove the tick of proxy if u have done that. And then it should work ! |
Re: Is anyone using a N900 in India?
Hey nice to see you guys out here .. Im in Mumbai .. and frankly i havent seen anyone with the N900 around here . I'm using it with vodafone live .Speed really sucks .waiting for 3G or number portability whichever comes first .I'm still studying so i really dont need to check mails on the go. but will surely change to a better service provider when num portability arrives .. vodafone data plans are real shite!

Re: Is anyone using a N900 in India?
Hi Guys,
I am from Bangalore and I have already seen 2 N900's here other than mine..very surprising indeed. I am using Mobile office from airtel. Even though the GPRS speed is not that great I can still enjoy decent browsing and also able to make calls over integrated Gtalk and skype Will be posting a full review of my time with N900 on my website: http://mobile-next.com/ -bipin |

Re: Is anyone using a N900 in India?
Hi everyone,
I'm from Bangalore n getting my N900 next week from US. I saw the phone, saw the reviews and blindly asked my friend to get it. I'm very much excited about it's arrival. I would like to know about the software updates. Whether the software is already updated or not? How the updates work, like just it will show the 'download update' like windows updates, when connects to the internet? Please let me know what all things i should do initially before start using it. Thanks in advance. Bijs |

Re: Is anyone using a N900 in India?
Thanks Cue. I get my phone in 2 days.. I'm excited....
What other essential apps i have to install? Also there is no pouch available in India for N900. I've ordered one from ebay.com but it may take 20 days to reach India. Is there any other mobile pouch which is compatible with N900, which i can use temporarily? Also how to transfer my contacts, calendar, messages from my N70 to my new n900? Thanks in advance!! |
