I updated without any problems while eating lunch at I-Ching using their wifi. Besides the portrait in browser, not enough time to see anything new or changed- good or bad yet.

As far as portrait, Nokai said we would see it in the browser, so they kept to their word. They also mentioned more portrait adoption would take time. My guess is when they roll out picture MMS and other updates, we will see it then.

UPATE:

Everything tried seems faster and smoother. Scrolling apps and homepages are smoother and games seem to play smoother now too. Strike that- they ARE smoother and not "seems".

Just for this stuff alone- GREAT update :)

looking at battery still moving like its charging but the light no longer blings and its supose too the setting is not changes for lights

it blinks when the phone is off strange when i pull a plug out a quick red blink comes up

OTA update completed smoothly for me, as did the small one earlier this week. I notice smoother UI transitions, smoother browsing, phone and conversations apps open quicker and more smoothly (yes, I like all forms of the word "smooth"). Also, I noticed that you can hold "1" on the dial pad to check voicemail now (not sure if that was enabled this update or the last one, but I knew I couldn't do it before). I was probably going to sell my n900 if I couldn't do that after this update....j/k. As for the whole full portrait mode "issue", I'm in the boat with those who think it would be nice to have the portrait option in built-in apps other than phone/photos/web, but will not be disappointed if it never happens. I knew what I was buying before I clicked "Complete Order" :).

Coming from a rock-solid-best-phone-I-ever-had E71, I am more than satisfied with my N900 so far, quirks and all.

Anyone else missing File Manager after update? Luckilly ive got a shortcut on desktop but cannot find it in the aplications menu??

As for feedback... I think overall I like it. Scrolling is definitely smoother, and the whole device feels smoother.

There are a few changes that will take a bit of getting used to (MicroB seems now to hold your zoom status from page to page, for example). But yes, It feels like an improvement.

I am installing it but its kinnda stuck on installation.. Its been 25 mins and the time is changing but the bar is stuck..Best solution please..Help required as i can not disconnect the device...

Had a bump in the road during my update because I had vpnc installed.. but got that fixed. Now everything works great. Some of my shortcuts on my desktop went away :confused: but after readding them they stay.

The whole machine is definitely faster which I very much appreciate. Portrait mode isnt all its cracked up to be.

SMS in portrait mode with some sort of input keyboard would be good for one-handed texting but no big deal.

So far, so good!

Just did the update OTA. No problems at all, went perfectly just like the 1st one. It's early but so far I've found none of the bugs others here are reporting like messed-up wifi, calendar, etc. All my settings and custom configuration are intact. But my N900 has been rock-solid through heavy use since I got it and I've been very careful and conservative about what apps I install so I didn't expect any trouble.

Not a blockbuster update but I didn't expect it to be. Some nice improvements to the browser, other subtle stuff. Overall, good job Nokia!

Just noticed in the last hour, the device is unable to log-in to google IM account. No problem from my PC. I'm pretty sure during this hour, the battery dropped from 78% to 72% free. The phone feels slightly warmer than usual

anyone else in USA?

not the point noone is asking for le=ctures just to be able to send a quick one handy perhaps cheeky even perhaps illegal text- noone wants a lecture on here.

guys dont have a pop , the function is still needed - if i am crammed in on a train going to london- i may not have room to send i two handed txt- . this feature is still needed

I've just download the update. After the download had completed my N900 rebooted and I get this message :
After 1min it reboots again, and I get the same screen again.
I can't connect to my pc to back it up (windows 7 32bit).
Can someone help?

Anyone else having IMAP issues after update?
My primary IMAP account stopped updating after installing, and doesn't alert from incoming email anymore.
I tried removing and recreating the account, but it still says never updated.
Secondary gmail updates without issues still.

Not sure if anyone reported but 3(Tre) Sweden works now. Browsing is a breeze over 3G.

I saw this once when I dropped my phone during an application install and knocked the battery out. It updated like that a couple of times and eventually started up normally.

Yes, I don't consider this a feature and I hope they remove it or make it a non-default option. It's usually the case that my next page has completely different formatting.

I'll vote for this bug. Post back here after you file it. :)

What happens if you pull the battery out?

Then leave it off (after putting it back in) and connect it to USB.

Then start it.

If I plug out the battery it turns off(obviously) if i plug in it remains turned off. When I connect it to my pc, it does the same process again. Keeps rebooting...

It's actually there, just as an easter egg.

To activate it simply push your foot flat on the gas peddle, aim towards the nearest tree and look at your phone. You should get a nice surprise.

Task Switcher
The most important one if you want to switch from one portrait mode app to another without going landscape inbetween, which is totally annoying.

I just rebooted. Can login fine now. However I did reboot 2-3 times since the PR1.1.

With regards to new "easter egg"...

One little bug I've found.... Having browsed in portrait mode, gone to desktop and then received a call and ended it. The screen reverts back to MicroB in portrait mode but showing the web page as if it's still in landscape, i.e. lower 1/3 of screen is black.
Only way out seems to be to open the keyboard....

Anyone else found this?

it happened exactly to me sooo what i did is remove the battery then put it back then plug the usb to pc while holding the U letter on ur n900 then u r up to reflash it and i guess u know how to do this,right? :) hope i helped:)

OTA update went fine.

After update my wifi wont stay connected.
I mean the connection gets stuck after a while of inactivity, and nothing works until i disconnect and reconnect the wifi.

It does this repeatedly so my wifi is really unusable at the moment. :(

You should try taking the battery out and holding down the power button for like 30 secs then plug the battery back in and start it. I had an error on my device when I first got it tried that and it loaded ok.
