Re: Nokia N900 Pinoy Owners

Wow I didn't know there were this many Filipino N900 owners, and even in the Philippines (or Laguna for that matter, which is where I am too)!

I'm still dying to get my hands on a N900, specially now that it's locally available. Unfortunately, no budget. :( And by the time I have enough $$$, the next device (Harmattan/MeeGo?) might already be out and the N900 deprecated/obsoleted (again). I bought my N810 last January 2009, and by then Maemo 4 was already deprecated (in terms of development).

Anyway, I'm happy and excited to see a local community grow around Maemo/MeeGo, maybe hopefully a developer community soon as well. Hope to become part of it very soon. :)

I'm Australian but I live and work in the Philippines, have done for several years now - I have an N900 too! Not that this matters much.

Re: Nokia N900 Pinoy Owners

Yeah N900 is now locally available. Price range is around Php 28,000 and above (from major stores).

You can also run the MeeGo Handset UX on the N900. There are images for it.

Kainggit kayo! :(

LOL buti pa kayo nakakalikot nyo yung phone ko. Natatakot akong pakialaman (kahit overclock) kasi baka masira. Mawalan pa ng warranty

no worries overclocking it, mine I've been using it at 1.55 ghz max since the kernel was released. pwede mo gamitin cpufreqUI so have options if you want to use it from as low as 125mhz to as high as 1.55 ghz.

You'll definitely see a big difference in performance once overclocked.

Pressure 2010-07-05 12:08

Re: Nokia N900 Owners from Philippines

Yeah, I've read a lot of manuals about overclocking. Still don't want to do it because I don't know what to do once I brick my phone.

And I'm still looking for that N900 Otterbox case store in the Philippines.

Re: Nokia N900 Owners from Philippines

sabagay I do understand you, fixing a bricked n900 with windows PC is a pain (from my experience and from others too) by reflashing, with a linux PC I didn't encountered a single problem yet.

nde naman. parang naka-clip sa sides yan. my only concern is the extra ml thickness added.

I wouldn't worry about it. Hindi naman talaga pocketable ang n900, unless slacks ang suot mo. Pag denims, dehins talaga.

Naku, takaw-magnanakaw yan dito sa Pilipinas. Pocketing the N900 creates a huge pocket bulge that attracts snatchers and other outlaws. Hassle din sa commute, especially sa train system natin dito. Totally not advisable. I always pocket my 7310 in case I need to text someone while in transit on a commute but never the N900.
