Where are you looking for the folders? The File Manager on the N900 (and the drives exported to the PC in either PC Suite or Mass Storage mode) hide everything below the MyDocs folder, which contains the .documents, .videos, etc. folders (the File Manager and PC Suite modes remap these to display as Documents, Video Clips, etc).

OK ive said it before but i'll say it again and its there when you download the pack. There is ONLY 10 levels. the rest were just filling space to stop game crashing.

In the NEW one ive still to release. Level 16 is UNSOLVABLE to stop people playing further

the levels are not numbered right
level 1-1 is called Level1.lua
but level 1-2 is called Level57.lua
and level 1-3 is called Level53.lua


The feed back id like is what everyones Top score for the Level is.
that way i'll get an idea where to put the * levels


Currently your * levels are redundant. and again i said right at the start that , im effectivly stealing Rovios pack2 space, and thus the star levels are the star levels set by rovio for there pack2 and are meaningless for the Custom levels.


My new solution allows us to have our own * levels and keep seperate high scores from the rovio pack

i dont think this is possible as were bolting onto Rovio and dont want to muck up the extra rovio stuff when they appear ...

Rovio have been really cool and Helpful. So i dont want to do anything that causes problems with installing the expansion packs when they appear.

Plus i dont have the experience to create a debian pack

thanks for the reply. I know there were only 10 levels, with the rest being duplicates, but you put up 3 txt files and said there were 3 additional levels, so I was just trying to play those,and find out what I was supposed to do to them.

Is it hard to design levels? Might be interesting to come up with difficult ones to see if my wife could solve them etc.

I will have look at my scores and post them up in a little bit for you.

you'll be looking for 21 +10 = 32,33 and 34 so

and thus copy them over 38, 35 and 20
but i am so close to putting up the new set
but am pretty much waiting on a FEW people posting the values so i can try to get it right first time.

You will also need to go back and do all the old levels. and if a completist try to get 3 stars. I spent far to long last night trying to play all the levels and work out the values.

hey sry bt um a beginner.......i did evrythn as u said bt it yet doesnt work out.....it says cannot create directory file already exists.....n den aafter da second step....it says dat usage:cp [OPTION]...SOURCE DEST...n wen i start da games der r no levels......xcept da 1st level pack....can u help me out......

I am another way to blast the additional levels

Download the level pack to the device ...

Copy this folder to the internal memory of the N900 if you unpacked in windows

In my case / home / user / mydocs /. Documents

Open the X Terminal, type sudo gainroot (if you have installed RootSh) whereupon type MC. If you have Midnight Commander

In one eye looking for our new levels that downloaded the earlier, the second with the windows open directory / home/opt/rovio/angrybirds/data/levels/pack2

Then gradually everything file by file copy to a folder by using the MC / home/opt/rovio/angrybirds/data/levels/pack2 all the extracted files

That's all .. I succeeded for the first time ..

lol Some people and their phonetic keyboard txt typing. N900 came with the full keyboard why not use it? also it came with auto completion for words and spell checking. No need to use that type of writing here.

Ok guys ive had the 15 level package all ready to go bar the star levels for quite a few days now but

I still need 3 or 4 more people to supply me their high scores , so i can check everything is hunky doory.


So the sooner i get this info the sooner i can get it uploaded.

Is that the "piggy where are you" level with only one piggy visible and some rocket propelled yellow bird?

If yes - my hint was "boldly go where no bird has gone before" and "use the force".

No further hint as this already spoils enough :D

cgarvie was kind enough to give me a sneak peak at his new level pack.

It install painlessly. Download a file, untar it, run a couple of xterm commands and you are using the custom level pack. After that it is just one command to switch back and forth between the custom pack and rovio's pack. Very easy. All your scores and settings stay separate. There are even a couple of new levels to play with. Very fun.

So a big thanks to cgarvie for letting me beta test.

*edit* I just downloaded the level pack from Ovi. No problems installing or switching back and forth. Now I just have to get through all cgarvie's levels again (I promised to play them and post here today) before I try Rovio's new (or re-released) levels. I've seen one or two of cgarvie's new levels and can't wait to see the others.

could u pls post the commands to switch back and forth between custom and rovio levels? i want to buy the level pack 1 from ovi; but i would not want to lose the custom levels too.

cgarvie is getting ready to release a custom pack. It has several scripts included that do the switching. It also has all the current custom levels plus 4? more. I've played up to level 16. The 4 new "unpublished" levels are pretty coll and creative. One was very tough to get past. Another one required a little thought.

be patient, it'll be out soon. in the meantime just rename your custom pack folder.

Well thats me gone and got the 2 extra sets of Angry bird. yippeeeeee.

As for my levels. Im waiting on 1 more person to post there highs core on the 10 ive released and then i'll send out my pack, after ive done my final checks.


But you will all be way to busy playing the Rovio ones to care

I think Level 7 is buggy isn`t it ?! When I kill the green head with the first bird.. nothing finish this level ?!

Here it is at long Last. The updated Custom Pack.

15 levels in total

TAKE NOTE : level 16 is UNSOLVABLE and i will not respond to questions asking how do you solve level 16

OK maybe a little more complex but i hope its actually easier to install this.


But first GO and buy the Rovio expansion pack. Its much simpler if you do this first.

Then Download the file attached to your N900. How you do this is upto you.

BUT DO NOT COPY THE FILE TO THE ROOT OF THE DEVICE.
ITS BEST COPIED INTO YOUR HOME DIRECTORY

untaring the file in the root of the device will take up valuable space and MAY CAUSE PROBLEMS


THEN ALL AS ROOT.


run
tar xzf custom-release.gz
cd custom

sh setup-cust-AB
this sets up AB to be custom level compatible.

sh run-cust
this allows you to play custom levels

sh run-rovio
changes back to rovio levels;

these 2 commands used to switch back and forth as you effectively swap the game between custom and official levels

sh reset
should be run before upgrading OS or buying rovio levels(i think) but is otherwise not needed



REALLY any feed back on my instructions and how it worked would be GREAT as would what people think of the levels.

There been discussion on other threads over the value of apps. Well i think my time has some value, and all im asking is for a little feedback.


Oh and those i gave it to for testing. may still want to download this as the star levels for a few have changed. (just run reset first)
then setup from the newly downloaded dir

The file you've uploaded has a .gz extension instead of the correct .tgz extension.

DOH.

Ive updated the instructions to use .gz

It is a tgz file but it would not let me upload it as a tgz. so i just renamed as gz

the tar command still works as the extension isnt important to tar


I was about to thank you for being my 100th thanks but some on must have sneaked in with that and i missed it.

So i'll thank you for being 101 :-)

Updated to the final release (kept my scores intact). No problems. Bought the level pack yesterday. No problems with either. Switches back and forth just fine.
