As a member of maemo since 2007, I have to say threads like this are a mixed blessing.

One, it shows we're big enough to bring in riff raff, which means Nokia's products are selling better than we thought most likely and the masses have arrived.

Just discovered this thread this morning, I love how many people are reading it lol. Never in a million years did I think there would ever be a thread on his forum which referenced 2girls1cup. Maemo has definitely hit the mainstream (for better of for worse) :)

Well its a mixed comment. You see, like I said I've been a member since 2007. I honor the traditions of this forum which has always been high class geeked out information on Nokia devices with a high brow edge. I never thought in a million years I'd have actually posted one of my "hazy camera test" images on here in an actual post where it would actually fit in. :D So I'm partly riff raff too. ;)

mhm.... you might know that in the german language, we use the pseudo-anglicism "handy" for mobile phones. few people here know that this is not the correct english term.... and even less people know that handy, as a noun, has different meaning not related to mobile communications at all.

i blogged about this a while ago and, yes, "connecting people" came to my mind then, too. ;)

Well we have already had someone post gay porn images on one of the threads here (cant remember which 1) and then again nobody removed that, i guess its still there. I seen it once and dont want to see that again! Had nothing to do with the thread so duno why it was posted but the guy got away with it.

when i started reading this thread i thought it would be the old timers who would have a problem with it, but it seems to be totally the opposite with newish people acting like the internet police,

this forum used to be a lot of fun in the old days. the 770-generation appreciates that this thread brings back some of these good feelings. :)

maybe the "newish people" on this forum are also younger in age. young people are easily irritated these days by topics that don't directly contribute to their future careers.

was one of the ps1 emu threads, and fixed now, guy had linked to images from his own blog, without adding maemo.org to his safe list, to stop other people wholesale stealing his blog posts
any site not on the safe list gets gay porn instead of expected images as a punishment. i thought it was genius!

You should not direct people to the repository maemo_amateur without copying this warning:

Come on now, I am really curious. As a Windows user, I've never seen open source porn. Actually, I have some questions:

* If you watch it and pick up a few pointers, are you obligated to open your own sexual escapades as derived work?

* Does it come with concurrent versioning? Can you download instructions and build your own version? What language will it be in?

* Are there nightly builds? Can we update without having to restart the act?

* Is there a bug tracker? Can you open a bug ticket about camera angle, technique, etc?

* Will there be brainstorming? Can we come up with new ideas? Are there solutions, or is a brainstorm with an embedded solution, like "put your right hand over the other leg"

* Is going to be DEB or RPM? Does it pull dependencies as needed, e.g., if a move requires a separate ability, does include libflexibility?

* Will it run on _My_Hardware_?
