It holds the N800 (which I leave in its Nokia sleeve), a USB charger and the headphones without rattling around and it is rather crush proof so I can just toss it in a bag/backpack

Ahh, someone with the same requirements. Thanks for posting the link. This is the case for me....and I can order it in blue ;)

This looks good. I want a a case that will hold both an N800 and a folded iGo keyboard. Do you think this would do the job?

The iGo needs about the same space as an N800 but it is maybe 3/4" deeper (front) to back than an N800.

Hmmm....I don't own an iGo keyboard and at the moment I don't even own the case ;). However, I did try the case last night at a store in our area. What I can tell you is that the N800 in its Nokia sleeve is a nice, snug fit in the bottom half (with the strap) of the case with no room to spare in the depth dimension. I didn't try putting the N800 in the top half (with the netting) but my hunch is that the case won't hold both. Maybe other members who already own the case can actually try it.

HTH.

UPDATE:
While searching the Accessories forum for advice on keyboards, I came upon a thread that suggests that it can be done with the iGo Stowaway Ultra-slim (4-row keyboard). See the thread titled, "The best case for your N800 and iGo Stowaway Ultra-Slim Keyboard" http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...light=keyboard. You didn't mention which Stowaway you have; be aware that dimensions differ between the ultra-slim and the full stowaway (5-row).

Re: Nokia N800 Case

I got my N800 onn 1/31/2008 when the local CompUSA finally put phones on 50%. :) Of course they were basing it on the original MSRP of $400, instead of the current MSRP of $300. Anyway, getting it made me dig out a Wheatley Fly Box that I had been using years ago for my Palm. You can get the box in choice of 6 colors and choice of foam (flat or slotted) here. The box measures 6" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/8". It's a little thick, but with the foam in it, it holds my N800 fine. It goes in my front pocket ok.

I pulled some of the foam and used it to for cushions along the edge of the case. Attached with double sided tape. Also used a couple of squares of it to support the front of the N800 since the back isn't flat.

Re: Nokia N800 Case

Man... that's nice! And the colour options sure are pretty, too. I wonder if it would be just silly to get one in green or blue even though I've already ordered a Proporta case.

When will the accessories madness ever cease with me?

Re: Nokia N800 Case

I found this case...it is just a few mm short of perfect....I know the feeling:

http://www.innopocket.com/web/showPr...s&code=SX-0311

But they might have other aluminium cases that could work. Though I love the idea of the fly case...that is really an elegant solution.

Hi
I'm newbies and just got n800 for a week and I'm finding for some case.
I found this
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6118
Does anybody use this? I read the comment from this site that it is suitable for DS not DS lite, So Is it can use with n800?

The Pelican 1040 hard case works quite well. Get the foam inserts for it, and follow the instructions I posted here:

http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=16930

And then you'll have a nice safe case for your N800 (or N810, I did one of each) that is water tight and crush proof.

This would make it 1/4 the size of my laptop bag. I could live with that.

Proporta gadget bag?

Re: Nokia N800 Case

I just got myself a fabric case from "GameStop" it's an own-brand one that is picked as a multi-purpose DS/DS lite/PSP case.
My N800 fit in quite snug, is light but still will protect if dropped and has Crab-clip the only issue is there is not pockets or any where to but spare SD or battery.

So I got one for cdn$10.00 plus shipping (they have some good deals on SD cards) from Canada Computers and I am very pleased. The iGo and the N800 fit really nicely:

BTW. I sewed the button and a loop on the original softshell case from Nokia when the N800 slid right out on day 1 of ownership. I just caught it before it hit the floor.

Don't, is it possible for you to cram your earbuds and/or the USB charger in there with the keyboard?

Re: Nokia N800 Case

I just bought the N800 case from Proporta.com, and I love it. I found a link from somewhere else in this forum, (or this thread), and just wanted to follow up with a recommendation. It finally turned by N800 into something I was comfortable carrying around in my pocket.

I also posted a review of the company here: http://geekmeetsworld.com/2008/05/be...ories-you.html

I have already order another case for my N95. I really recommend checking them out. HERE IS LINK TO THE CASE FOR THE N800

Re: Nokia N800 Case

To all, Thanks for all of the great suggestions!

Unfortunately, I am used to carrying my T3 on my belt in a NiteIze case so I'd like to keep the N800 on my belt too.

Has anyone used the any of the cases from eholster.com

The virtual fitting room lists the N800 as fitting in their Regular e-Pouch PDA Case.

Thanks in advance

Matt

Re: Nokia N800 Case

I use this case that I found in Best Buy.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....ci_sku=8648163

There are 3 pockets, with one having an inner sleeve for holding game cartridges. I cut this out and got more space. This fits the I-Go keyboard, NokiaN800, and extra stuff. The case is well made and offers good protection. Also hooked up a shoulder strap to the handle to use(not included).

Re: Nokia N800 Case

Just bumped into this on DealExtreme. $2.49 shipped is hard to beat. It's dimensions are said to be: 5.83 in x 3.74 in x 0.55 in
N800's are: 5.67 x 2.95 x 0.51 inches
Seems like it would be a good fit. (I haven't bought one, don't need it.)

i use this one from dealextreme for $4.72 which fits the N800 like a glove but no soft padding. nice and pocketable.

Not my ultimate solution yet, but a nice belt case came with my old Dell Axim X30 PDA
http://www.5rprocessors.com/productc...&idcategory=59

Not full coverage/protection but fairly quick access. Fits N800 real snug.

Re: Nokia N800 Case

Just got a nice case for my N800 at amazon.com for $9.95 US plus $7.95 shipping. It is made by Prima and is made for the N800 and is leather. I assume this is a closeout price, although they did not state that.

Just search for "Prima Premium Leather Book Style for Nokia N800"

Re: Nokia N800 Case

ooh, I note that Amazon have quite a few n800 accesories being sold cheaply - in particular styluses (third party), screen protectors, cases, chargers etc.
http://tinyurl.com/yglenjm

my n800's battery is showing signs of age - it's done pretty well - so I will be looking out for one too.

i need a cheap case made for n800 that covers the screen too (that you can see the screen through) and protects the whole thing from scratches

Re: Nokia N800 Case

First, I wanted to have a hard case, so I made my own, I found that the case of an old DC600 tape cartridge fits quite well, with some foam padding around the sides and on the lid. I cut out a square out of the lid for the Dpad, to prevent pressing the center button and to make it fit.
http://www.ece.mcgill.ca/~jthiem/IMG_0005.jpg

In the end I prefer the original soft pouch, I just added a thick, corrugated cardboard insert to protect the screen. The rectangular cutout is so the centre Dpad button doesn't get pressed as I slide the N800 into the pouch.
