When you restart the phone now, the N900 drain atleast 9% of battery to 15%.

I flashed my device, and got what seemed like not particularly updated OS. slow and sluggish, tried installing apps from a backup.. and then got a reboot cycle! so decided to take the plunge and reflash total inc EMMC and now its sweet :D deff recommend a total reflash and only restoring phone book!

Hi, just wondering if anyone can confirm this:

**GTK_STOCK icons like GTK_STOCK_DIRECTORY, GTK_STOCK_FULLSCREEN, GTK_STOCK_PREFERENCES while used in the program, "error icon" is loaded instead whereas some other icons do load successfully.

I have that too. Mine seems to be formatted correctly, if they gave us some proper format to follow it may be easier to do so.

After updating to pr1.2, my internet browser doesn't seem to load up any pages. firefox works fine, just not the original browser on the phone. any ideas?

Thanks it works fine now. However Ive been having this problem with the browser, im unable to download anything with it. I see the downloaded item, but it just stays at 0%. I've posted before but no one seemed to have come up with anything, was hoping you would (:

Take a look at the configuration file at /home/user/.browser, it might have something that the browser is not happy about.

The other thing that I can think of is to check if you have install something that configure default browser selection. That could cause the browser not to start as well.

My Gmail has been working since I got it. I used Nokia Messaging for Gmail until i noticed there was a Gmail option

Check /home/user/.browser, it contain settings on your last download directory and other settings. Not sure if it is safe to remove it completely and let the browser create another one. But you can try renaming it.

Note that browserd constantly using this file when I last try to make changes to it, so I have to kill the browser daemon, make the change and reboot the phone.

The BUG caused by OM Weather Widget is still there, which is also there since the leaked PR1.2.

Overall, I don't see much hype about this PR1.2, and they took so long to released it. It's virtually no difference with the leaked version.
Worst of all, I encountered my first freeze problem during restoring app and I access the picture gallery. Waited so long but it's still not responding to any touch, opening camera, power button, etc (which used to work for the older firmware when it's freezes or stop responding).

So much for the wait and this is what we get, and yet so many things are still not available. They should've just released multiple updates and show to others that they're active and care about the N900 by having frequent updates.
Current actions shows that they're really neglecting the N900, not paying attention to the N900.

To be honest, N900 would've died easily IF there isn't this community and people providing the plugins, add ons, etc.
What does Nokia do? They can't even provide a proper features like MMS to date, if it wasn't for the community, when will there people be able to use MMS?
The N900 boast about it's socializing with incorporating contacts with IM, yet, to date, there's so little options available. No MSN/LIVE or Yahoo which are widely used, and most people have to depend on 3rd party until today. If one day, after PR1.XXX they finally provide it, people have to merged the contacts AGAIN?????
Facebook Chat is already a good example.

The community is the one that's saving and making the N900 useful.

For me a cpl of bugs i've spotted after the initial update...

BOOTSCREEN

The bootscreen manager application no longer works. Two short video's i had set up via bootscreen manager no longer play on boot up since pr1.2 ota update.


PORTRAIT

CTL_Shift_R : Switches it on but after a reboot it seems to have switched off. Has to be switching on again within each app that portrait mode functions in.

CONVERSATIONS

On entering conversations main UI it flips between landscape & portrait (once switched on) fine. But when i enter a particular convo from the main UL list it flips back into portrait mode so unable to reply to a msg on the go in portrait.

Ok, after flashing to PR1.2, this is the problem I have.

This is from a freshly Flashed N900, haven't install anything else on the phone yet.
I've tried flashing with the old and new vanilla image. I also tried the global and US version of the PR1.2, still experiencing the same problem. It would be nice if someone can help me out here.

By the way, my N900 is the US version.

I have the same problem, but also my N900 started to rebooting and rebooting, till I remove the battery.
Now I am stuck with PR 1.1.1. Any ideas for successful upgrade to PR 1.2?

I don't have the rebooting issue though.

Can you tell me how did you reenable the gsm radio after you downgrade? I can't seem to find the method for that.

I found this in another thread:

Run the following command and replace RX-51_blahblahblah_ARM.bin with the 1.2 image name.
Code:
flasher-3.5 -F RX-51blablablabalaba.bin --flash-only cmt-mcusw -f -R

And it works!

Has Anyone figured out how to reset the Data Plan Monitor Widget now? There are two data counters in the update, however restting both of them does not re-set my desktop widget? Thanks in advance

I know you posted yesterday but I hope you flashed the correct PR1.2 because on the tablet dev page there are several. Leak which has the SIM issue and the official 1.2 release.

Unless the format has changed the leaked are currently at the top and the official PR 1.2 is at the bottom of the page.

Thank God I have my 3GS, never crashed once, does all the things the N900 is incapable of doing.....and hell i can even ssh into my servers, the main reason for buying Nokias brick. And It syncs perfectly.

Looking at all the bugs after 1 day, it is patently evident Quality Testing is non-existing, I suppose Nokia have got our money and there is no need to further invest in a dead platform.

Video callingrequires the other person to be able to participate in Video calling too. Have you checked that the person you want to contact has video calling ability?

Finally got the upgrade (i'm kind of strapped for time with work right now) and I'm very underwhelmed.

The autocapitalisation issue sucks, and will be very inconvenient.

I can't seem to find a way to reset my standard 3g/gprs data counter. It used to be under 'phone'. Now I'm offered a counter for 'home data' (wifi presumably??) and 'roaming data' but none for standard. Unless the 'home' one is the local 3g... in which case the data counter widget no longer works. Which is... awkward.

I haven't yet found any 'improvements' to make me happy. The calendar is as clunky as ever.

Added to which, I'm finding the thing sluggish and chuggy. The menu scrolling is positively cludgy.

Anyone got bright ideas to convince me this was a good idea?

Welcome to 1.2 Kathy.

The Dataplan monitor used to check the single counter that the OS maintained. Now the OS has two counters, one for data used on your home network and one for when you are using a roaming partnership agreement (when aborad etc). As the counters have changed at the OS level the widget will need an update to reflect this.

Regarding menu scrolling and 'chuggyness' it seems to vary from handset to handset though a lot of people have found things settle down after the handset has had time to reindex things and a further reboot too.

I have found that poperties with a name rahter than a number seem to be unlikely to be found. The other issue is that the road number seems to get scrambled too! Of the address I have that work they all seem to find the road but go searching for an apparently random number!
