FYI - I did a backup of my bookmarks using the "Backup" utility, deleted /home/user/.mozilla directory and ran killall browserd in xterm and now it works... ;)

DrWiliken-that's very interesting.Might try that too. Would the sheer amount of bookmarks you have cause a problem somehow? I know it doesn't make much sense, but nothing much that makes sense does work. It might be like that problem which caused double directories to appear everywhew in file manager when you had more than(was it 35?) directories in the mydocs folder.

But Flash playback has always been terrible with the N900 for me. Even with Ztoube the videos are very pixelated and slow.

Is this normal?

Nope, it can't be the amount of bookmarks. I don't have that many (50 max)... :)

Another thing... It actually didn't delete any bookmarks (as far as I can see)... Guess they are stored somewhere else now... :D

Sorry for the confusion, when a flash video is playing on a pc, a right mouse click brings up a menu. The same on the N900 only you'd have to keep pressing the screen where the video is located in order to bring up the menu. My previous description was a bit in a hurry.



Here' a wild quest:
When a flash video is accessible on the N900, keep touching the menu and note what numbers the JW Player has. Mine is 4.5.216 and clicking on About does nothing as it does for the rest of the options of Toggling Fullscreen or changing the Stretching.
I wonder what version those without ptoblems have and those still with PR 1.1
Also, the jw player went through version 5.0, 5.1 and even 5.5 as it seems, did Nokia forgot to update the JW Player for us?

you tube seems to be the same but some othersites will no longer load... Also for the first time ever I got an "unable to continue, out of memory" never seen that before.

Trying to do that right now but can't find wha*tyou are talking about. I can get bbc media player version number
but not a JW whatever that is.More info?:)

You're right, JW Player does't seem to be a universal flash player. Some websites have different flash players from what it seems.
My PR1.2 flash problem originated on www.tvr.ro where there's a flash video content right in the center of the home page. Going full screen with that video shows only in a quarter of the screen. With PR1.1 it worked great.

Think I got the iplayer back working as it used to for me, here's how I did it (as I posted on another thread)........

Connected using a 2g connection, after clearing cookies and starting tons of apps. Phone was creaking under the strain and going VERY slowly. took a minute for iplayer page to load, then selected a video. That took forever to load, but I figured the cookie must be on there and set up by noe, so I started closing apps. Video was still trying to load, so switched to 3g and restarted browser too. Went straight to iplayer on this 3g connection, chose a video and then clicked on use low bandwidth(forgot to do that before now) and after 20-30 seconds it played. WITHOUT having to click the pop out or anthing. Was a little jumpy as you'd expect, but once you maximise it then it worked fine, almost perfect, and this is on a 1 to 2 bar 3g signal, so still not a great connection. Will try it through wifi tomorrow, as I'm in bed now and need some sleep:) BUT looks like it works now same as it used to for me before last weekend.

I guess I must have cleared cookies or something back then, don't really remember, or perhaps the bbc updating sent a new cookie, who knows. But anyway, try that method if you haven't got it working and see what happens, then go tell your friends and relatives and try out other websites with same method:)
