Great app man!! Essential... It save me many times...

Note: Could be possible abort image creation when "taring" fails? I think It could reduce many fails restoring images...

Re: [Announce] NEW Backupmenu-multiboot and new multiboot 0.2.11

new to n900..

Mido - a quick question.. I have repartitioned my emmc to have a 21 GB /home. However I have only about 3 GB used out of it.

So when I use Backupmenu, would the backup tar file be 21 GB size irrespective of the size in use? or would it be just 3GB in size. I am this since I would not have space to back up on the phone or the SD card if the backup tar file would be the size of /home folder

Also I have swap running on my SD, so any special consideration for installation of the Backupmenu-multiboot ?

It'll just be 3G - tar only backs up the data.

hi..im new to N900

i have read ur guide on page 2..

i have stock maemo, and i used the guide from the page 2, and everything work like a charm..

but after that, i would like to install the bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver with modified kernel (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=67554), to multiboot with others, but it seems i cant make it work..

can u post some guide on how to make the modified kernel with injection wifi driver to work multiboot with your guide on the 2nd page?

i thank you first in advance.

@mido.fayad

Bro i have been running both ur custom NITDroid images on my phone for sometime now but i have a problem with Gingerbread not showing MyDocs as sdcard memory.

Your custom froyo is installed on mmcblk0p5 while custom Gingerbread is installed on mmcblk0p6.

I have same partition table like urs mmcblk0p4 is extended partition with mmcblk0p5 & mmcblk0p6 as logical partitions.

Can you help me edit vold.fstab sd as i have a spare external card with me.

@ funkmunk

this is vold.fstab with the correct commands to mount real SDcard

u can find it in attachments as tar archive

copy it to /home/user/MyDocs

assuming u installed nitdroid on mmcblk0p6

open the terminal

root

mount /dev/mmcblk0p6 /and

cd /and/system/etc

tar xvf /home/user/MyDocs/vold.tar

..

u should edit .item file

u can find it in

/etc/multiboot.d/

edit nitdroid item and change the following ITEM_DEVICE=mmcblk1p6 for gingerbread

and mmcblk1p5 for froyo

All I need to do is backup/make and image of my phone so if I have issues I can just reload it.. What do I need to install. All I have is one OS and of course that is Maemo. Do I need the multiboot part?

Thanks

download this file :
http://www.mediafire.com/?4729126z6ig11k6

unpack it and copy its contents to /home/user/MyDocs

then open terminal and write the following :

root

cd /home/user/MyDocs

dpkg -i multiboot-0.2.11.deb

dpkg -i backupmenu-multiboot-1.0.deb

dpkg -i kernel-power-bootimg_2.6.28-maemo46_armel.deb

dpkg -i kernel-power-flasher_2.6.28-maemo46_armel.deb
