I can't send text messages, but I can receive. I used these files:
I'll try the nitdroid-kernel-2.6.28-07_rc3_armel.deb. Still not sending :( |

Re: [Release] N12 "UMay" - Android GingerBread 2.3.4
New kernel seems good, except I'm getting OOME's in most apps both inconsistently and consistently! Have logged a bug with logs :)
Also noticed incoming SMS gets truncated to 126 characters...have logged bug for this with logs too :) Anyone else notice this? Works superb otherwise. Voice is interesting...it appears very close...dialling out, the earpiece audio is garbled with gaps, almost distinguishable...it used to be dead/blank on older kernel. Might just need a samplerate or buffer tweak. PS. Keep up the good work e-yes :) |
Re: [Release] N12 "UMay" - Android GingerBread 2.3.4
Lovely stuff. I will try installing this in the next day or 2. To people having problems with google sign in upon boot not appearing then having no market. I had this on N11 and I thought I had made a clean install. It's not a problem really market-wise, as there is an alternative, but you may notice it wont sync. Tried a few things but couldn't get it to fix. Wasn't too bothered by it. Don't think you really need it. At the moment at least.
Thank you e-yes for all your wonderful stuff. I am sure N12 will be good fun, whether I get it to install fine or even if it turns into a problem solving, brain testing excercise trying to figure out which bit I did wrong:) I actually learn loads when I have to figure stuff out and it beats watching soap operas on tv. |

Also, sending texts! O: I am stupidly excited to get back from work and try this out. I'm at work and not paid to read through tonnes of threads so can someone tell me in a nutshell if it works well or not? :D Amazing work. |

as per http://wiki.maemo.org/Nitdroid_easy_install_on_EMMC BTW: the new kernel works better than the last one (i.e. fewer "wait for application to respond" messages. One strange thing to note that my usual android app for overclocking could not get any lower than 1.15Ghz (stuck there). Dling another one fixed it. Now happily fooling around at 900mhz. I.E. Thanks all of the nitdroid team for this. |

Re: [Release] N12 "UMay" - Android GingerBread 2.3.4
anyone can make nitdroid work with u-boot?
|
Re: [Release] N12 "UMay" - Android GingerBread 2.3.4
Thank you guys!
My NITDroid UMay is fully functional! I had Vostok on EMMC and installed UMay on top of it just using the method listed on the Wiki. And installed the new Kernel RC3 by the XTerminal and the SMS and USB MASS is working fine! Thank you!!! |
Re: [Release] N12 "UMay" - Android GingerBread 2.3.4
Seems a large majority is ready to go now. Only major thing left now is the phone functionality and then you could *almost* call it complete. Excellent work.

leafpad /etc/multiboot.d/11 Tap TAB at the bottom of the screen, I get the following line appearing: leafpad /etc/multiboot.d/11-NITDroid-mmcblk0p2-2.6.28.NIT.0 and if I press enter there are no lines in the file. It's empty. I quit out of file without saving. Is that right? I was expecting to see a couple of lines and specically a line mentioning "ITEM_DEVICE=mmcblk0p2". My guess is it because the file already exists, there is no need to edit the boot file. Would that be correct? |
Re: [Release] N12 "UMay" - Android GingerBread 2.3.4
My /etc/multiboot.d folder has the following files:
00-Maemo-2.6.28-omap1.item - i.e Maemo 11-NITDroid-mmcblk0p2-2.6.28.NIT.06.item - i.e old kernel 11-NITDroid-mmcblk0p2-2.6.28.NIT.07.item - i.e new kernel inside those 2 last .items there must be a line like tihs ITEM_DEVICE=mmcblk0p2 So, don't leafpad at the /etc/multiboot.d/11 (there is no such file as "11") Just enter those 2 last .item files and change line accordingly. I learned myself the hard way :-) @artron See this post, you need to make sure that the multiboot menu points to the correct location. |
Re: [Release] N12 "UMay" - Android GingerBread 2.3.4

Kernel is compatible. But NITDroid expects some initialization that is done by multiboot. Multiboot loads all necessary modules (at least for mouting NITDroid's partition), make depmod, it mounts root, makes maemo's root accessible in /mnt/initfs (yeah, it's needed in order to force nokia's binary crap (DSME, BME, SYSINFOD/CAL) to work)... I plan to move required logic to NITDroid itself, but this task doesn't have high priority as far as multiboot "just works". |

Re: [Release] N12 "UMay" - Android GingerBread 2.3.4
Thanks, finally got it installed (probably issues with a SanDisk card [stuck on black screen with white -), but using SDFormatter and a combination of other instructions (sfdisk,mkfs,mke2fs etc.) I finally got it installed properly.
That includes What'sApp, just not when on 3G it seems. Can anyone confirm it only works on WLAN? Speed is fine too on my microSD class 4. Big thanks e-yes and others, I'll be looking forward to more updates (my main purpose being messing about, and hopefully use What'sApp properly). PS Phonecall itself works, just the speaking (and hearing) doesn't. |
Re: [Release] N12 "UMay" - Android GingerBread 2.3.4
I can't get it to work. I tryied the "easy install" () and using the UMay file, but when I try to boot Android, the linux screen stop when this line shows up:
E: videoep: xcb connect failed |
Re: [Release] N12 "UMay" - Android GingerBread 2.3.4
hahahah....I'm pretty new on linux and it was too late when I saw in other threads that I can flash just the kernel,so I did a full flash.I tried to boot into baemo pressing b,1,0...but everytime i had the same guru meditation error.8 followed every step by step how to install the N12 UMay...I made sure that I have installed the full package with the enh.kernel bootimg, multiboot and all of that but I still got that error.First of all I was able to dual boot..but that was with the stock nokia kernel, then I installed the enh.kernel v.47 edited the multiboot.d/11 thing with leafpad and saved...after reboot in the boot meny I had three options...first one maemo with ...something omap1,second maemo with enh.kernel v.47 and nitdroid 2.3.4.I succesfully booted into Nitdroid but after reboot I couldn't boot back in maemo no matter what I tried and reading I don't know how many threads with people having similar problems. Now I'm afraid to install Nitdroid again due to the previous failure. Can someone explain to me how to do it step by step.-or the moment I' running on PR 1.3,installed CSSU and enhanced kernel for power users 2.6.28.10-power 47.thanks to all of you who were willing to help me.Greetings from Macedonia!

Re: [Release] N12 "UMay" - Android GingerBread 2.3.4

Here are my benchmark results (AnTutu & Quadrant) @750 MHz with undervolting. NITdroid is installed on eMMC's separate partition.
This guide helped me to find how I can undervolt CPU. I edited voltage settings in oc-profile-500-750.conf and then renamed the file into power.conf. |
