Personal Dataplan Monitor,
would be nice to see this on the notification area, also with a little enhancement where it would separate download and upload (already present) and total (adding download + upload) (not available in n900).

I copied the list a second ago from first post into:

http://wiki.meego.com/Porting_list_from_maemo

could you please update the wiki instead of this thread? you all can sign into meego.com with openid (http://maemo.org/openid)

I am informing the meego forums too, and truely hope that every developer will find the list and keep it updated.

Re: Which community applications do you want ported to N9/N950?

I know these aren't community apps, but would be GREAT if they can get developed for the #N9. I do plan on buying one regardless....

*Google Maps (US resident, Nokia Maps just doesn't cut the cheese in the states)
*Whatsapp
*Fring, Skype or some sort of videocall app
*App to view live surveillance of home security cameras
*App to use N9 as a remote control (Windows Media Center)

New to this community(never bought a Maemo device), so if any of these are already developed, please port. Like i said, regardless, i'm getting an #N9.

My wishlist:
-FCam + Drivers (oh pwetty puhwease!)

Preenv! (About the multitouch-optimized games that *some* of us play...surely the N9 solves our problems? :D :D :D)

If I'm ever able to buy a N9 or N950, I plan to port Maego and other such tools.

Re: Which community applications do you want ported to N9/N950?

That's the only Wiki article I've ever updated.

I don't follow these forums anymore so sorry I'm so late to this thread: I do plan on making pyRadio available to MeeGo (hopefully that also means Harmattan?) - it actually shouldn't require any changes - that last thing I was waiting on was someone to port PyQT4 for MeeGo. I'm not sure if that's there or not now but if it's not when I get extra time to focus on it again I might try porting that too.

FWIW, there is no "late" and no "votes". This thread is just to let packagers know what there's interest in. If they're not interested in it themselves, they won't port it.

Even the Nokia Maps on the N900 seems better than Google and with the new one, I think it'll blow Google Maps out of the water. To me, you just can't beat offline maps and I find the interface to be much better too. JMHO though.

I'll throw in a vote for Hermes (think it's being done as we speak), video call app as suggested above (unless Skype is packaged in with it), and some kind of remote control as well like posted above (WMC, VLC, etc.)

Hoping to finally get around to learning C++ and Python so I can make an app or two myself for the N9.

It's always good to have multiple choices. Nokia/Ovi maps is nice, and I use it when travelling abroad, but it's unusable in some countries like mine, Serbia. Basically the map is empty, only the international highways/roads are shown and the borders of towns. You zoom in to a town and it's empty.
If I start using the N950 as my main phone (I need skype and gtalk), and there is nothing except the built in maps, I'll try to do something with Marbles.

FYI, Google Maps now has offline access. It's definitely not as automatic as other solutions, but it actually works quite well.

rm_you has created a deb for pyRadio on the N950 that should work for N950/N9:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...19#post1058319

I got pyRadio working on MeeGo with the fluendo mp3 codecs.

pyRadio 4.0, when released, should support the N950/N9/MeeGo/N900 and Diablo is still up in the air.

Just keeping you guys updated since my app was mentioned.

Re: Which community applications do you want ported to N9/N950?

I would love to port my nepcal app to n9 provided

* There is nice tutorial on how to port qt app from maemo to so called meego, most probably it is just a gui tweak but I know nothing.

* There should be significant numbers of Nepalese (50 would be nice) using n9/n950 and using this forum (talk.maemo.org) or forum.meego.com (my app is almost useless to the rest of the world).

* I should have some free time and mood for the port.

* Plus it would be nicer if I don't need to download large file for the port; already have qt sdk (it was hell pain downloading that).

I love this widget too, however, I don't think the n9/n950 is intended to support widgets.

Of course, I hope developers here that have made great things for the n900 (like CSSU) can add a 4th desktop for widgets.

PasswordSafe (very important)

Something like "siggy" to manage the accounts (don't really need the graphics but would be fine if you can add also incomings)

Evopedia (on- and offline)

qTranslate

Foreca (if somebody finds the way to add widgets) and

last but not least "more homescreens"

Twimgo - done
Cutetube - done
Flashlight - We're having some issues with activation of the flash. It'll likely either be rectified at a later date, or someone will do it the hard way.
Scout - Harmattan has global search already
Kasvopus - Harmattan already has a Facebook application (which is surprisingly good)
Headphone daemon - If this is to ensure that the music stops when headphone is unplugged, I THINK it comes 'built in'

I'm currently in the process of porting EasyList. It's quite far along. The app is running stabily. It's still not feature-complete, but it's getting along quite nicely.

Re: Which community applications do you want ported to N9/N950?

(I'm the author of gTranslate) Porting gTranslate will be kinda useless. You may have heard that Google is closing their free translation api and in the future you will have to pay for it. :( The api will be closed on 1st of December so there are some time left. After that the only option I found is to use free Bing translation api (ew!). Currently it's already used Harmattan application Translate Mee (not open source I think...). I might code a new translation application for Harmattan which will be using multiple different sources (Google Translate, Microsoft/Bing translator and dictionaries for single words). Someone else is going make (or have made) similar application(s) so I'm not sure will I make one myself.
