Maybe using the mc-tool through terminal? I don't know the syntax, but maybe is a start.

I'm really interested also in SIPE for Microsoft Office Communicator/Lync.

Hi,

I just tried the same and tried to use mc-tool.. However haze/sipe seems not to be recognized as a manager/plugin.

I thought that as libpurple was installed it might be compatible with SIPE already, but seems not to be that way.

After pidgin-sipe gets installed successfully, does anybody know how to link mc-tool to the installed SIPE plugin?

Is anyone working on bringing these extra IM providers to the OVI store? In the very least the ones not requireing libhaze will be easy.

It should NOT be put into Ovi Store, but into Apps For MeeGo (apps.formeego.org) instead. I'm pretty sure that one could be a crowd pleaser and sneak a package into Ovi Store (like it happened with the Calenderr Hack), but that would be a very ugly solution and bring problems down the road. We should wait until Apps For MeeGo gains support for dependencies (Niels is working on that) and then upload it onto Apps For MeeGo, i.e. the Community Repositories - there we can then have shared dependencies (telepathy-haze + libpurple0) and upgrade these packages independent of the main package and have a proper upgrade path, plus the possibility to have other packages that depend on these libraries.

Nobody might be stopping you from putting the single-file .deb into Ovi Store, but please refrain from it. If you do anyway (but this will be a ugly hack and bring problems down the road!), remove the package from Ovi Store. If you do it anyway and don't remove it, please abide by the license terms of all packages involved. If you don't want your users to end up in a mess, don't upload it to Ovi Store.

Hi guys,

I was able to login to Office Communicator with mc-tool with:

Code:

mc-tool add haze/sipe username@you.com string:account=username@you.com string:login=WINDOWSDOMAIN\\windowslogin string:server=server.com:port string:transport=tls string:useragent="SIPE/1.10.0" string:password=yourpassword
However I can't find the way to create the right way to do it from the accounts list.

@OP: I couldn't get Coderus' package to work but your solution worked on first try, many thanks! One small issue though, on the "availability" screen my MSN account shows up as "qtn_msn_name" and ICQ as "qtn_icq_name" - would be nice with something prettier...

Are you using "xxxx@yahoo.com" or "xxxx" for the account name?

Yeah, just use "xxxx"...the "@yahoo.com" seems to be not necessary. This was driving me nuts during testing, too ;)

whats the differnce from coderus plugins its the same version and my accounts works pretty good so why all of this can someone explain plz o.o

Re: [Update] Guide to: Installing AIM / ICQ / Yahoo Messenger / MSN Messenger / Vkontakte / QIP

You'd have to ask coderus what he changed.

On a first glance, it seems he created binary account handlers and repackaged everything into a single .deb.

Re: [Update] Guide to: Installing AIM / ICQ / Yahoo Messenger / MSN Messenger / Vkontakte / QIP

Please think twice before ranting.

I just said to leave the @Yahoo.com out.
This version was created before coderus'.
He even tells to remove anything from here before installing his files.

I don't like binary 3rd party plugins for my passwords for obvious reasons, so this version is still up.

Just install his package again and everything should be working for you with MSN.

After firing up messages, you can choose what to display (e.g. windows messenger, ICQ) from touching the messages banner.

Oh that's news to me...
If you don't mind my asking, why did you decide to stop developing it?
