@Kdib Thank you, I noted everything, I will do my best to make it better. In SNES sprite hiding is caused probably by the fact that you have frameskip set to 1. Set to 0 and should be ok.

Thanks for the tip! Set frameskip to 0 and it worked like a charm - sprite blinked like it should.

BTW, why is it set to 1 by default? Aladdin still runs very smooth and fast without frameskip.

It was not that good in the first releases. I haven't noticed it is still 1 by default, I will change it to 0(Auto) in the next release.

Is there any way u could implement this step of sixaxis config:

(~ # killall bluetoothd
killall: bluetoothd: no process killed
~ # /usr/sbin/hciconfig hci0 up
~ # /usr/sbin/hciconfig hci0 lm master
~ # /usr/sbin/hciconfig hci0 piscan )

To a button of some sort in the emumaster app or maybe an icon on home screen that executes this code so we dont need to type it terminal after every reboot?

elemental 2012-02-05 17:05

Re: EmuMaster 0.2.2

I can make an icon but you will still have to type the root password.

Sniper_swe 2012-02-05 17:14

Thats okay. Takes alot less time:) thx

Hi elemental. Is there a chance for a maemo 5 version? I'd like to try this.

elemental 2012-02-05 17:31

Re: EmuMaster 0.2.2

In fact I made version for fremantle already, but:
- it's really hard to get qt-components and all graphics from harmattan working on n900
- psx emulation is not working
- I don't know why I must show QDeclarativeView with qt-components first, so settings appears first, you press back, and the emulation starts, it take some time to load qml with qt-components and they are rather slow
I will publish it, but not now, I have no time today, sorry. Next week, OK?

Sure, whenever you find the time, of course. Thank you! :)

Re: EmuMaster 0.2.2

so elemental whats ur next plans for the emumaster ? ur gonna get working on the genesis games coz not all games work ? or ur gonna fix psx emulation or ur adding new system ? o.o and about the sixaxis controller not all ppl knows how to do the codes and it takes time could u make a shortcut that does the job without writing the codes it'll be alot easier for us .. and i've been wondering is it possible to emulate DreamCast ? coz i think the n9 can do it

elemental 2012-02-06 08:35

Re: EmuMaster 0.2.2

Now, I will improve compatibility of each system one by one (first NES and Amiga). I will add global features as well. In some point N64 emulation will be added, but not in the next release. Simplification of sixaxis connection will be added as I said couple of posts before.

Please fill compatibility list at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...tTnlfYVE#gid=0
It would be very usable for me (especially NES section right now). Thank you

Re: EmuMaster 0.2.2

u didnt answer my question though , can u emulate Dreamcast ?

elemental 2012-02-06 12:49

Re: EmuMaster 0.2.2

dreamcast is too powerful, sorry, if 1fps satisfy you then I can say yes. Maybe it would be couple of fps more, but still unplayable

Trilinear filtering has no sense here where you are scaling up, its purpose is to properly display textures on far objects.
Anti-aliasing can be implemented in places where emulation manages drawing of polygons, lines, so it mostly applies to psx, but it's not easy.

On the SNES emulator, Donkey Kong Country doesn't work... It starts up gets you to the main screen and stops...

Works for me. Might be bad ROM?

Just checked it and I'm having the same problem as you :p

Lol, that's why I suggested it, I don't think it's the rom, or it could be...

Re: EmuMaster 0.2.2

I thought I was clear about it. Please fill it in the compatibility list, do not post it here, it's like a spam. Thank you. (Looks like somebody already updated compatibility list :)

I have an idea about on-screen keyboard for Amiga.
Most Amiga games don't use too many keys and on-screen pad already have 12 working buttons. So, IMHO, a setting for each Amiga title to manually map keyboard keys to on-screen pad buttons would be a clever walkaround.

Yes, I can give an ability to provide user defined layout for these keys

Perhaps already mentioned here, but I can't find nothing about it.

How does emumaster handle savegames over multiple discs of PSX?
I'm now playing Final Fantasy 8 which has 4 discs, but how can I load my savegame status when I need to load another disc.

And how do I load another disc, when the question is asked ingame?

It's not supported, there is no possibility to run games which comes on multiple disks right now. I will add it in the future, please be patient.

any chance at all sometime in the future?

I found a bug in Amiga emulator: mouse buttons doesn't work. So, when you switch you touchscreen from Pad to Mouse mode you can only move your mouse but can't click with it. Tested it on "Wolfpack" (Wolfpack (1990)(Mirrorsoft)[cr QTX].adf).

Re: EmuMaster 0.2.2

not really a bug or anything, more of a suggestion Elemental, but maybe make the diagonal controls on the dpad bigger, I often find it a pain to touch them

it always seems like if I want to hit up and right it will either go up or right.

otherwise thanks

In the next version there will be an option to make dpad bigger (circles would be bigger), maybe it will help you

Im not so sure its that the dpad is too small, just the "zone" (angular section) that is applied to the diagonal portion of the dpad is too small.

Re: EmuMaster 0.2.2

Ok, I will add an option to make diagonal area bigger as well

awesome thanks.

with the way it is currently, it almost seems like the sectors for Up, Down, Left and Right almost take up 85 degree section, leaving a very slim "pizza slice" for the diagonals

I thought about it a little and in my opinion the best option would be to create a slider for controlling size of the diagonal area in the settings, and I think it would be best to show how it would look to the user - I mean to show an image similar to the one that is in the wiki.

When I try ot play a certain PSX game I get the error "Loading state failed: "conf->data" not exists Application is going to shutdown :(

Selecting "Run with Auto Save/Load..." allows the game to run. Is this a common error?

Thanks!

It appears you have a state from the old version, don't you? If yes, it won't load, run with auto save load disabled, go to settings and overwrite a slot with AUTOSAVE label

It's all because there was a change I the scheme of saving a state from 0.1.1 to 0.2.0 (if I remember correctly). In the future there will be a state importer, so you don't need to worry about current states.

Re: EmuMaster 0.2.2

Hi, I love the app but I'm having some problems when I try to save some gba games. There's a solution but it only works for pc emulators (Changing the save type to 128k instead of 64); but I'd like to know if there's a solution for smartphone users. I've searched and read tons of pages without luck.

On a different topic, I've found that everytime I receive a call while I'm playing I get a pop-up saying that emumaster's not responding.

Thanks.

Ps. I know this is a problem regarding the ROM, but I don't know what else to do :(

I knew the problem, but thanks for reminder - added to bugtracker.

It's not about the BIOS anyway, the emu won't run the ROMs. That's why I said it would be better to optimise then to jam in as much consoles as possible.

He said that every gba game won't run for him, while most of gba games works for me now, so it can be bios.

However I am optimizing the current emulations right now to achieve the best compatibility rather than adding another one.
